Only other loans were Atkinson and Broome.

Ojo still under contract (move on)

I'd be interested in Richards too

I think we need GK and CB cover,(Jones,Sang to leave, possibly Smith)someone to replace Harper and Lowe in MF.

Someone to replace Chizzy and Paton as I expect both to leave

Plant and Lomax to return.

I'd offer deals to Smith,Debrah and Clark.

That's 7-10 players. Not a massive overhaul IMO

I'd offer deals to Smith, Debrah and Clark. Clark is a no-brainer and think Big Jessie will get better and Smudge has been great and will be a good back up player

I think we can only re-sign one of Smith or Debrah if we want to bring in improvements since Heneghan and Hall are still on the books. Personally I’d pick Smith.

Surely Mitch isn’t leaving?

Hopefully once the dust settled and we stop being doe eyed and sentimental DM knows a back 3 CH containing both Debrah and Smith is a relegation defence.

I trust DM.

2 new CH top of shopping list with a keeper and midfield runner.

Easy to post on here, very difficult to get in reality.

Here is food for thought in regards to what we will be up against next season.

In the same league with Luton Town who will receive another £60 million plus in parachute payments next season to go on top of the £60 million plus they got this season

I fear for Smith. Heneghan is under contract and I don't think Moore will want two 'middle of the back three' CBs on the books.

I also have a feeling Moore will be extremely ruthless and we may be surprised as to how many are shown the door next week.

And BJ, proven clubs like Huddersfield, Barnsley, Peterborough and Rotherham have done absolutely nothing.  It's rock hard.

Out of interest, why? For me there is absolutely no way we can play either of them on the right of a back 3 next year as they’re too poor on the ball. So I’m judging them on pure defensive ability. On which Smith is miles clear.

I do too. I think Smith is gone 100%. Due to already having Hall and Heneghan under contract, realistically max you can sign is one of Smith or Debrah, or else we are stuck with the same defence. He might even release both.

Moore obviously not a huge Smith fan judging from first half of the season, and conversely he’s a big Debrah fan, as was shown by how long it took to drop him in his run of poor form in December.

In an ideal world, I’d let Heneghan go, keep Hall and Smith, and sign 3 new centre halves. In particular, one that can play right centre half and is decent on the ball. Highly doubt we’d be able to shift Heneghan on though.

Sang and Kyle John RCBs next season. We don't need 3 stereotypical centre halves.

It’s possible this may work in some games but I don’t think we’ll be able to do this as often as this season. More likely than not we’ll be the team with little possession under the cosh. Need a proper centre half to deal with it.

I’d be releasing Sang anyway. Was crap last time in league 1, and he’s been terrible at rwb this season. He has looked good at right centre half, but can only play there when we expect to have more of the ball. Too niche of a player to waste money on signing.

Is that right BJ. I thought that a club that was promoted,  then immediately relegated,  only got parachute payments for 1 year, not 3.  Was changed due to oysten at Blackpool,  who went up, invested zilch,  was happy to come down with 3 years parachute payments.

Maybe it's changed again?

Option1:
Sang, Smith and Debrah (is he out of contract?) are not offered new contracts. Moore doesn’t think he can shift Heneghan and Hart, so he needs the positional and wage space, so the better players have to be the ones to make way.

Option2:

He offers them terms. Commits to finding new homes for Heneghan and Hart, and if not we absorb the wages, loan them out, then look to move them on in January. The renewed guys become back ups, the vacated spaces are taken by players that enhance us.

Either way, we get better defensively because it would be nonsensical to go in to league 1 with that CB mix.
