Summer transfer rumours and speculation

Reads like they’re painting us out as the bad guys for blocking the move. The club don’t have to agree to anything, he’s a player we could have needed at an any point.

Exactly,  Byers was long term injured, Garrity has picked up a couple of knocks, Sang suspended a couple of times, Harper not really match fit and it was before the emergence of Walter’s after re-signing in January.

Moore is no fool and releasing Chislet could have left him very short of numbers in midfield.

Breaking news for old man Chislett. If his lad is ready, there is a new challenge awaiting next season without having to move.

I can't help feeling that if he likes South Africa that much maybe he should go and play there. I don't see what releasing this story does for him or the Vale. I understand why he hasn't played for a while now. I think it is naive of him to think that all 72 league clubs are suddenly going to play the South African way because he likes it. Thanks for your efforts Ethan, good luck with your new club.

Personally, I wouldn't be looking at any EFL1 players; i'd be wanting players from the Championship, 'casue that's where we should be heading

What would Liverpool fans have been thinking when they signed Kevin keegan from 4th division scunthorpe. He didn't look to bad. Our own tolaj has stepped up....and what about Sammy Morgan from lower Gornal athletic.

What was the name of that coloured midfielder we signed from non league, think he did OK for us but then went that little club called Villa. Oh that's right, Ian Taylor, one of the greatest Vale players of all time....from non league as well. I'll leave it to Daz to get the best players from wherever, but will never decry those stepping up from non league. One of ems just leaving the Premier league..... a Mr Vardy done good for a non league lad.

Heard a rumor from Preston where I do a lot of work that North End are interested in Tolaj, hope it is just a rumor !

There will be a lot of interest in Tolaj that's for sure but with 2 years left it will be on our terms whoever it is and i guess that shows the beauty of 3yr deals to younger players

It will be interesting as it will come down to budget, its clear we had a very very good budget for L2 so will be down to what Carol does in L1.

Carol will certainly be backing Moore in League One

Also lets not forget Darren is a big pull for some players(yes it's down to money mainly but having him as manager is massive when enticing good players)

It's been clear all season that the Chislett Moore relationship wasn't working; for whatever reason.  Certainly with hindsight he should have been sold in January. I don't think Moore ever trusted him, nor was Chislett enamoured with how Moore wanted to play.

It’s always someone’s else’s fault.

Player signs contract. Only a club can dictate when and for how much a player can leave or what’s the point of a contract?

Here’s a thought how about applying yourself throughout the duration of your contract rather than tossing it off when you think you will be bettor off elsewhere to try and force a move away.

Most of his performances post August have been woeful.

Only 1 bad guy in this situation and it’s not the club.

Lowe, Chislett, Grant, Jones (renewal), Ojo (hopefully in this category) were big earners I’d imagine, seeing as they were signed to play L1 football, so having their wages available is no insignificance.

We’re in a fantastic position with the squad. We recruited in the summer for players who are likely to be able to step up to league one without a big recruitment turnaround. There’s only a few of last year‘s signings I would be worried about in league one, and most of the players who obviously can’t make the step up are either out of contract or have already been shifted. All our best players are our own as well; I think we only finished the season with Hackford, Umolu and Richards on loan. I’d only be interested in Richards and even if we couldn’t get him back, he was a peripheral player anyway. That’s a much better situation to be in than going up with a team full of loan players as your best players.

As others have said, I do feel that we are way better equipped to deal with League One this team than we were last time. Moore gets the best out of these players and genuinely seems to enjoy being at Vale. Thought Wednesday did him dirty and I think that was the impetus for him to prove himself to any doubters he may have had, and he is clearly doing that.

As far as our transfer window this upcoming Summer, will of course be key to add on depth and quality as prudently as we can while still maintaining financial stability if you will. Tolaj has some admirers I am sure(Though alluding to an earlier post in the thread, PNE can stick their butter pies where the sun doesn't shine tbh haha) but I do not see us selling such an important player unless we get a very substantial offer. Also, will show how much we actually want to do going forward(i.e. making Championship etc) based on what we do with him.

Some quality loans will need to be had and I do think Moore is the type of manager that clubs can trust their players with.

Exciting times for the Vale and I think this window will be a productive one.

Only other loans were Atkinson and Broome.

Ojo still under contract (move on)

I'd be interested in Richards too

I think we need GK and CB cover,(Jones,Sang to leave, possibly Smith)someone to replace Harper and Lowe in MF.

Someone to replace Chizzy and Paton as I expect both to leave

Plant and Lomax to return.

I'd offer deals to Smith,Debrah and Clark.

That's 7-10 players. Not a massive overhaul IMO

As I said earlier in the season, state £20 million or S*d Off, and stick by it.

Lorent is not only a player who can meet the challenge at each new football level to which he rises, he is a player who shows the quality and the sheer excitement to add substantial numbers to our gates.

I’m hoping to watch him in a Vale shirt for years ahead.
