Summer transfer rumours and speculation

Featured Replies

Another 5-6 additional players with the quality of Jaheim Headley in their respective positions to join those under contract for next season or in the squad and worthy of a new contract.

One player I'd be looking at if Dazzer thinks we need another striking option is Sam Dalby. Out of contract at Wrexham, only 25 and on the back of a great loan move at Dundee Utd (14 goals, 2 assists in 30 games). Could be good competition for Stockley.

We will need 2 strikers with Jerry and Hackford leaving us

Personally, I wouldn't be looking at any EFL1 players; i'd be wanting players from the Championship, 'casue that's where we should be heading

With the greatest of respect, we've been down that "championship ready" Flitcroft bullshine road before. Let's just consolidate for now, mid table mediocrity would suit me down to the ground and slowly build.

We may get a few ex-championship players in, but they'll have a lot more enticing offers from teams higher up the table imo.

See what you’re saying Osh but I wouldn’t limit ourselves like that. Let’s be honest, arguably our most productive signing last summer was going to the league below and plucking one of the best players from there in Tolaj.

I said nothing about Championship Ready; I just don't think we need filed EFL1 players; all that will give us is lots of people on here says DM isn't good enough and demanding he be sacked after 3 games.

Championship level players don't always work out for he best though. Look at the difference in impact this season between Byers and Tolaj, one was playing in the championship the other was mid table national league and I'm sure one will take up a lot less budget than the other. See the same for say, Connor Ripley and Tom Sang in our relegation season.

It's exciting anyway, I can't wait to see who we bring in. I feel a lot more at ease with our recruitment process this year than last.

I dont think you can compare Tolaj and Byers - they play in different positions and Byers broke his leg and was out for a long time.  If you look at the last game Byers was man of the match and showed his class where is Tolaj wasn't that great.

One game isn't the whole season though.  Byers is a good player and will be great for us next year, but Tolaj has been a county mile more impactful on our season.

Gonna get pelters here, but iv liked Ryan Johnson's partner, rough arse Lewis at Wimbledon - I know his shorts seem to disappear up his bum hole, but he has been a big part of the stingiest defence in our league ( apart from when we play them 🤣🤣)

Imagine him and smudge together,carnage!😁

I thought that when I saw him warming up at VP, got the height and build to give us a battle. Got taken off second half after we had run rings around him…Not sure he could handle the pace of L1 and there is our current concern.

I agree with the championship players comments, we bought for Lge 1 in Lge 2 so buying Champ for Lge 1 makes sense. I suppose it all comes down to budget and who’s available and interested but with the squad that we already have, I’d say 3/4 quality additions in the areas we all seem to agree on and we will go well next year.

I think we go well next season, DM as an ex centre back will know what he wants and we will be solid at the back and set up for a lot more niggly 1-0’s. I’ve promised myself next season not to get too upset when a close one doesn’t go our way.

In 39 years I’ve never felt more positive about my club  UTV
