It isn't 'must-win' but Bradford and Wimbledon's results tonight means a defeat on Thursday will create quite a gap between us and the automatics.

Notts would be 7 points ahead of us in 2nd, and if Wimbledon beat Salford then we'd be 6 points from 3rd.

Not insurmountable by any means but we'd be playing catch-up for the rest of the season.

I disagree, everything you've said there makes it a must win game.

Just my opinion though.

A gross slander (at this precise moment it's 5 deg C in both places), but in any case my problem is the travel, not the temperature. It would mean a night in a hotel plus my usual outlay of anything up to one hundred quid in train fare (the fares vary a lot but are usually higher midweek than on Saturdays).

Are you suggesting the average temperatures are the same?  Last time I was in Edinburgh I froze my nuts off and was glad when I got off the train back in Kidsgrove where it was warm enough to stick them back on again.

And they are losing...

He came on at HT when they were already 1 down according to reports.

Just seen the ridiculous Crewe red card. The ref was the Chesterfield v Vale clown !

Last night's results well Bradford seem to be a win to nil team at home doing very well I'd say they were quite limited when beat us so over achieving but fair play .

Wimbledon well if that's a sending off its time it's time have VAR in league 2 as it never was but they took advantage of that fortuitous decision and romped to a 3 -0 win v Crewe who are losing regularly now but still only 1 point behind us and we ain't losing regularly.

Walsall watched a bit of there first half seemed to me a hardworking team, but they seem to have lost there way although averaging 2 points a game on 60 well overall they are on track even though going through a blip at present.

Vale need to do something Thurs for sure .

It's all of a sudden become a must not lose game as it will leave us adrift from top 4 /5

Be interesting see the mentality of performance put in .

Hopefully folk are coming along .

Our home form will now dictate where we finish .

As supporters we need play our part .

Has anyone got an update to our injury situation

I expect Crewe to make the playoffs still.

Thought they did great business in Jan.

Their results recently don't back that up!!😁😁

365 have both sides @ 13/8 for this one, could be a cracking game ....

It’s very close to. We could still lose and go up, but it would require us going on a pretty good run afterwards. We can’t massively afford 6 point swings to promotion rivals.

Would anyone say we have been outclassed by any of the top 8 or 9 teams this season - to me, our worst performances have been against mid layer teams

Exactly Joe, so a win would be preferable, but a draw wouldn't be the end of the world. 👍

There's never a time for VAR.  Ever. Standing around while every decision is scrutinised?  Its absence in the EFL should be applauded.

I watch very little football that is not EFL2 (or wherever Vale are playing), but felt like watching tonight’s Man C v   Real Madrid.

The skill levels are just different order.

Yeh, vales are much better!😃

Yeh  they're all injured.😂

Noticed Vale tweeted that just under 700 free tickets have been snapped up so far. Great, but can we get more shifted before tomorrow?

Everyone wants the ground as full as possible. If there's any ST holder not used their free ticket yet, try to get it shifted. Is it worth a separate thread for Non ST holders to say if they're looking for a ticket, then it can get sorted on here by private message?

I've got myself and my daughters ticket sorted. The club say with tickets sold in the home end, including Season tickets is over 7,000. Let's try to get over 8k, 8.5k, maybe 9k? Would be looking between 9 to 10k overall gate with 1k from Notts.
