Port Vale v Notts County match thread - 13th Feb

Noticed Vale tweeted that just under 700 free tickets have been snapped up so far. Great, but can we get more shifted before tomorrow?

Everyone wants the ground as full as possible. If there's any ST holder not used their free ticket yet, try to get it shifted. Is it worth a separate thread for Non ST holders to say if they're looking for a ticket, then it can get sorted on here by private message?

I've got myself and my daughters ticket sorted. The club say with tickets sold in the home end, including Season tickets is over 7,000. Let's try to get over 8k, 8.5k, maybe 9k? Would be looking between 9 to 10k overall gate with 1k from Notts.

So out of I can't recall how many season tickets shift say over 5500 only 700 free tickets have been allocated.

It's free surely someone loves a freebie although if folk would rather pay good on them

It's like getting a away game travel free ,do you think the same folk who use that service would go if they had to pay ,I'm.sure some would, but most wouldn't as they would feel there entitled to free travel if ticket price is astronomical .

However this is a nice gesture by Vales owners, I've got one if anyone wants it for nowt there welcome to it, I mean it's a win win for a supporter who has lost interest ,as if lose they weren't going pay anyway go but if they go and see a dynamic Vale, they may return so good iniative from the Vale

So come on get the stay aways cause Rudge gone ,cause Smurfwaite was the owner ,cause they don't like the hamil to come along

Yeah, I know it's the sensible thing to say 'it's not a must-win' based on the raw numbers, but emotionally we sort of need a win Thursday if we want to go up automatically. The promotion chase is properly sharpening up now. Walsall getting reeled in by a chasing pack of, currently, Wimbledon, Doncaster, Bradford, and Notts.

We're either 1 point off the autos or potentially 6. Firmly in the chasing pack or cut adrift with the poor sides floundering around from 6th-9th. It would be a bit of a momentum and morale killer to be beaten in such a key game by a side we're directly competing with. Will feel a bit of a sign of where we're going.

So yep, we can probably lose and still go up, but it is much, much preferable if we win and we're creating a hell of a job of ourselves if we don't get the three points.

totally agree, psychologically for the club, the team and fans alike be a massive boost to get the 3 points on Thurs night, but not season defining just yet. Also sends out a clear message to future opposition as well.

There's never a time for VAR.  Ever. Standing around while every decision is scrutinised?  Its absence in the EFL should be applauded.

Might have gotten us two extra points at Bromley though

Goal line technology not VAR

True, and surely that doesn't cost much to introduce. 🤔🤔

That’s the sort of talk that led to Woolworths going bust

It was handball behind the goal line though, to be fair.

True 😂. Although if checking for handball if they didn't notice the ball was behind the line it would be time to pack in. They would notice that wouldn't they.🤔

If we’ve sold over 7000 in the home ends, Notts will bring over 1000  plus walk ups we could get 10,000.

Most of the walk ups will have asked their family or friends for a free ticket at a guess.

Pinch of salt and all that… but we may be cursed
