So many good things from today, most of which have been mentioned except for Cover’s pass and Richards’ run, in the lead-up to Stockley’s goal. Sheer class from both of them. Their chemistry, in that moment, was off the scale.

Imagine Vale, Crewe and Walsall all getting the automatics.

And Sjoke coming down!

It was class. I’d also like to mention Sang’s great block in the melee at the end - he celebrated it like a goal.
The squad seem to be able to keep finding ways to win regardless of the opposition.
Hope the reason Garrity went off was just fatigue.

7/2 FAVES to win the thing this morning, just ahead of the Warsaw.....

He was limping just before he went off.

That’ll be the two footed challenge after the ball from Stevens.

Atrocious performance by the Ref. I normally shrug my shoulders about that but this was spectacularly biased. Surely there should be consequences.

Makes our win even more impressive.

They tried to play football on the deck, realised they’d run into Championship attackers having a sabbatical in L2, couldn’t get the ball, went 2-0 down. To counter this they decided to forego the footballing element and decided an MMA-rugby hybrid would be more effective, buoyed by the ref’s encouraging leniency.

My issue with the reffing is that other teams will see that and think “let’s just do that from the start, turn it into a street fight.”

Staffordshire poiice would have multiple panic attacks

Waking up 🔝 of the league, 30 points on the board, unbeaten throughout the whole of September & October. Thank you for the memories Sir John, for saving the club & all the hard work Carol & for making us smile again gaffer. The support was brilliant yesterday to get us over the line. I see no reason why we can’t take Barnsley down next week 💪🏻 Enjoy your Sunday guys & this moment because there will be bumps in the road at some point but for now how good does it feel to be a Vale fan 😬

We need the Bycars upgrading anyway.

Can’t think of a worse sets of away fans who could potentially come to our ground. Let’s hope they get relegated though.

Right now we look like a team with so much strength in depth that we can beat anyone in our league no matter what changes we make. Exciting times.

In a state of shock after the game yesterday, and couldn't make any sense of it all. Every emotion had been triggered in the 2 hours that elapsed during the game.
Having slept, I woke up with some thoughts 🤔
First half, we were playing the Dons away side, who would have come with a game plan to keep it tight.
We blew them away!
Second half, we played their home team, full of confidence and attacking intent based on 5 home wins out of 5.
After 15 minutes, we were holding our own at 1-1 (3-1), then it really went downhill, especially as Garrity and Stockdale went off. I felt very uneasy from that point onwards. We responded by shoring up the defence, but the midfield and attack were getting overrun. It was backs to the wall, and a massive relief at full time.
Some excellent, often very panicky and desperate, defending saved us. We could have sealed it with a breakaway goal, but didn't.
For all our depth of squad and changes of personnel, for me, the fulcrum has remained steady;  a combination of Garrity and either Byers or Croasdale. Having only one on the pitch showed that in this one, very strong area, we do lack depth.

And, yes, I've just read posts above about the ref and their physicality. Awful. Letting blatant fouls go unpunished throughout. What does Stockley have to do to be given a free kick? And then contrast this with ultra soft bookings for Vale players 🙄

I love this reference to Championship attackers taking a sabbatical 👏👏👏
