It's been a strange rise. I must be honest in the first 4 trophy games the only impressive thing about him was he ran around a lot. He was miles behind someone like Walters, Shorrock, Ben Lomax (thought he had a great game at Wrexham) and Buah who looked at lot more composed on the ball. The games he played over Christmas he suddenly started to look a decent prospect.  Then kicked on in January despite the rest of the team not doing much. Very different to Mark Chamberlain who looked special but erratic when he first got on the pitch as a substitute.

We'll get offers and I suspect he'll take one. There is a chance he'll stay for 12 months, mainly because he may feel he'll develop quicker playing men's football.  As some age group players never push through he's probably played more games and scored more goals in league football than a couple of members of the squad.

It was tough seeing him struggle for weeks when brought on as a sub.

You can see the benefits now. If you want youth players coming through, you have to accept that there’s a period of time where they adapt.

Well done, Baylee. We couldn't have asked for more could we? Solid performance and on the score sheet yet again. We're bound to get offers and every goal puts another £100k on the price.

So let's hope he bags a load more AND we get him back on a season loan from the club that signs him.

Portugal next!

It's the butterfly effect of that crappy 1-0 win away at Exeter when the Dipepa song started and we just went with it for 15 minutes to calm our nerves.

Anyway fair play to the lad. He's tenacious, has a knack for being in the right place, is genuinely good at winning the ball and every time I see him I appreciate his passing more.

I'd rather, since he's under contract, he stays with a full season of first team football before he moves on to a club that's right for him. I'd hate for us to sell him to a club that will see him rot in the Prem youth team.

Selling him off first chance we get would depress me no end.

We're bound to get offers sure, but I don't hold out much hope we'd reinvest it well and his stock would only go higher with more league football in a team aiming to do well / go up from League 2. He'll play a higher level than us I'm sure eventually but we can offer him first team football before he moves on.

He linked up really well with Mikey Moore today and just looked class. They really struggled with his physicality.

As JRC has posted it’s a really strange improvement from him. He looked nowhere remotely close to being ready for the first month, always tried and ran himself into the ground but not remotely close. Then all of a sudden started to look a decent talent. Personally I think he needs another season with us playing regularly rather than signing for a premiership under 21 side and rotting in there. There’s a lot of his game that needs developing, we saw at Northampton that he isn’t the finished article (why would he be at 17).

Brilliant for him and the club today, and I just hope we have him for this season as a full season of league 2 could help him develop more.

My head says vale will get quite an attractive offer after this tournament that will be too good to refuse.

His goals against Bristol and Exeter showed someone with real ability. Someone told me that they saw him playing against his lads school a few years ago and he was the best player byva mile, to the point where he was applauded off by both sets of parents!

That's my worry but if we hold firm and he does well in the first team next season the value can only go up.

I'd really think it would be a mistake if we let him go before another season with us, he's one player we have that fans can get excited about as we give League 2 a good go of it.

Who knows what he could do in L2 with a big lump up alongside him???

Second thoughts, didn’t we try that…..
