They lost my purchase of a new top as I just couldn't wait any longer in the queue.

If this is the modern way of running a business, then God help us, and the owner of the business.

Bang on Jimbo.

I live in Newcastle upon Tyne and used the print at home option, it appears that is not happening now, and I can't get to the Vale to pick one up. Last season I collected my ticket from the away club's ticket office, hopefully that will be an option at Salford.

On a side note, I have purchased train tickets to Manchester from Trainline, within two minutes of buying the tickets, the tickets were sent buy email and in my Trainline account, ready to use.

Why did the Vale change to Ticketmaster knowing that only half the clubs in the league are using the qr code system

Don't think there is enough nouse about the place to look at things like that Geordie sadly.

All uncollected tickets are bagged up and sent to whoever we are playing on the Friday at 2pm. We collected from away grounds 9 times last season it's miles easier than a round trip to Burslem if we don't have a home game to collect them.

I went to buy the new home shirt back in June and I was at the back of a very long queue. It turns out everyone in front was registering for the juniors to get the shirt. A lady walked up and down the queue triaging people who just wanted to hand over money and walk off for their purchases.

I do hope that the club revisits the current arrangement as it seems counter productive to me.

On that particular day, Sue and Claire from the club were in the shop and they must have seen what was going on.

It’s possibly been mentioned on this thread before, but this would be a good point to raise at the forum on Thursday if the opportunity arises.  Not to moan but to make the point that at certain times the current setup doesn’t work as it should and needs to be tailored to suit demand both face to face in the shop and the situation with the lack of availability of staff to answer the phone.  It could be sorted out quite easily with a bit of thought.

Unfortunately not, all 'Toon' fans where I live

What a cock-up ! Just been up to get tickets for Bolton they  wanted 3 addresses and phone numbers plus emails for ticketmaster.  Took half a hour too sort out.  Good job I didn't buy any merchandise as that is done on a different system.  Only 6 in the queue before me but still took me 40 minutes to get 3 tickets.  Definitely needs sorting

Its crap Corbs - well done on your patience; was going nip across from work at dinnertime but reading all the comments today, I havent bothered - not much on its own for the vale, but how many others "cant be arsed"

After the most amazing close season in which the club/Auntie Carol deserve all the business we can give them, we are now confronted with a classic Vale fuster cluck 👎👎👎

I was feeling quite smug as the move to Ticketmaster has been a doddle.  Renewed season ticket, linked to my sons account, bought Bolton and Luton tickets - all perfectly easy

Just been onto my account on my laptop as so far done everything on my phone.  Using the same email and password I get access to a different account on my laptop than on my phone.  Different account number and no loyalty points or purchases at all - seems I exist twice.  Proper weird.  I wonder if many who are claiming to have no points etc have a similar issue and exist twice somewhere in the system.

I did a reset on log in details on my laptop and now seem to be getting the same correct account on both

It's all just a bit poorly implemented seemingly without anyone going through step by step to double check the user experience.

In relation to the ticketmaster site, they want you to activate your account to link your new ticketmaster account to the existing data held so your points transfer across. Great, however if you don't know your supporter number you're knackered because the "how do I retrieve my supporter number" link just links to the ST purchase home page.

The way to retrieve it is to log into your existing club shop account through which tickets were previously bought, navigate to 'my details' here -

https://pvfc-shop.com/portvale/ASP/browse.asp?public=true&returnPage=myAccount.asp

Your customer number is in the top left corner.

But to the best of my knowledge this has never been communicated by the club. Hence people having to go out of their way to get up to VP and then queue up for help...which means people ringing in give up because the phones don't get answered.

Another slight problem that I encountered with this is that my supporter number when using my iPhone did not display the last digit of my supporter number.

Well my Dad decided to take his old BSA and sidecar out for a ride to VP. I told him it would probably be the ticket office round the corner of the shop he'd need to visit.

Apparently not. Everything now goes through the shop and there was one big queue for people buying stuff as well as tickets.

An 84 year old standing for an hour and half wasn't a pleasant experience. Anyway he got his ticket for the car park and then tried to set off home.

Bike wouldnt start. Tried loads of things. Lady from the shop bought him a drink out. Then he needed a wee so the chaps doing work at VP let him use theirs. Called Green Flag who told him his breakdown was invalid for his bike as its over 16 years old. (Who knew this little trick?!). He eventually got hold of his classic bike insurer who arranged a lorry. This was going to be about 5 hours later at 7pm. Anyway the workers at VP spotted him and asked if he was ok. He told them the story. Dad asked if there was a chippy nearby - there was but too far for him to walk so the lads drove him while one looked after his bike.

7pm came and lorry turned up and off they went home.

Bit of a day out to say the least.

Bike problems aside, if this queuing system for tickets is normal its dumb. If you've got elderly people waiting you've got to be more pro-active making sure they are ok to wait that long.
