Public service announcement

I've heard today that all fans will need to collect their tickets from the ticket office. The "print from home" option was mistakenly left on and shouldn't have been there. I assume they are going to put an announcement out at some point but that's the reason we haven't got a QR code yet.

That's really handy for those who don't live in the area.

Is the ticket office operating as a 'silo' in business terms and the boardroom does not realise how inefficient it still is?

I can only think they chose to shut the ticket office area and merge it all into the shop to encourage spontaneous merchandise purchases when queueing up. In reality sales have lost from people giving up and customers alienated.

Apparently, the print from home thing will only be relevant for home games. Away games we will still need a paper ticket as the club can't guarantee the away club will have the infrastructure to scan a qr code.

Agreed though, and the fact that it hasn't been communicated properly is a bit piss poor. I'm still waiting to hear back from the ticket office after i emailed them Tuesday and chased them again today.

Rodge it's p*ss poor at best. Went to the Supporters Club AGM last September and simmilar conversations were being held then.  "All fur coat, no knickers" comes to mind. Any other business or organisation you'd walk away, no messing. Be interesting to check your mates account who got a ticket by not being eligible - sounds good to me! They'll have my wife to answer to later... Then me if they ever get in touch...  At the end of the day, we just want to buy a ticket and watch our team - hopefully win games - job done. Bring back dear old Bill Bell, never any issues then! God rest his soul...

This wouldn’t have happened under the watch of Ticket Office Ted!

You could not make it up Doha. You cannot access half the merchandise in busy periods because people are queueing to either pay for tickets or goods. If details have to be entered for evry ticket sale, then at least x5 mins/ transaction is relevant. Who explained the "Supporter Number"? Surely a letter/ call (for non email customers) or email could have been sent simply saying "This is your supporter Number - quote and use this in any transaction". I've lost count of the number of occasions I've walked in the shop and said I'll leave it... I always go back but eventually if you keep kicking a dog, eventually it will stop coming back to you. No common sense, no measurement of work content and method. Keep it simple, make things visible. Really poor. It's now 11.31am, still no reply from the club. They are not selling Salford tickets now.

They lost my purchase of a new top as I just couldn't wait any longer in the queue.

If this is the modern way of running a business, then God help us, and the owner of the business.

I've now had it confirmed by email - all tickets need to be physically picked up from the ticket office or collected from Salford on the day:

I live in Newcastle upon Tyne and used the print at home option, it appears that is not happening now, and I can't get to the Vale to pick one up. Last season I collected my ticket from the away club's ticket office, hopefully that will be an option at Salford.

On a side note, I have purchased train tickets to Manchester from Trainline, within two minutes of buying the tickets, the tickets were sent buy email and in my Trainline account, ready to use.

Why did the Vale change to Ticketmaster knowing that only half the clubs in the league are using the qr code system

The wording of the email suggests you'll be able to it from Salford on the day.

Just read Walka003's post, apparently collection from Salford is opinion .

If not, can someone not collect on your behalf & meet you there? Sure somebody on here will be happy to help you out if needed. Not ideal obviously

You’d think the club could do with putting a communication out on this as it’s going to catch a few out potentially.

I'm happy to collect from Salford if that is a genuine option, but  thanks for the suggestion
