Massey will have the game of his life and we end up giving him a 3 year contract.

Dont know if Jones and Lowe are out of contract in the summer, if they are then they will have absolute blinders so we give them new 3 year deals too.

Cambridge are safe in the knowledge they are staying up, they had their party after the draw last night…...Vale are the gift that keeps giving

Cambridge are not safe. They can be relegated on Saturday. See above.

Mathematically yes they can but they are playing the Vale, so they are safe.

There is another interesting twist here. Stevenage, who play Cheltenham, can't reach the playoffs which they had been challenging to do for several months. But Steve Evans left the club after their challenge was over in order to take charge at Rotherham. Therefore Stevenage to me look more vulnerable than might be expected and Cheltenham - fire in bellies - may be able to take advantage.

Yet Stevenage went to Oxford, took the lead, and still came away with a point at the Kassam!

Indeed. The game was broadcast live on Sky. I don't accuse them of being slackers!

But you're infuring, that now Evans has left, their standard will also leave.

Obviously not as Evans left before the Oxford game. .

They are at home last game of the season. They'll want to please their 3700 fans. Evans took Stevenage up from L2 in his first year in charge. He wasn't able to keep them in the automatic positions or playoff positions ultimately. But they were top in the Autumn. With that fanbase, about 50% of Port Vale's he's done far better over two seasons. Hence he has been headhunted by Rotherham, a L1 / Championship yo yo team.

I think Rotherham are broadly what Port Vale could aspire to become if well managed for a few seasons.

At the end of the day Cheltenham need a favour from one of two relegated sides to stay up.

Feel a bit sorry for Cambridge fans, the timing of the Bonner sacking was odd as they let him carry on for 2022/23 despite him having a poor run. Like with us, changing managers doesn't seem to have done a thing for them.

They also have the best GK shirt in the whole division.

There should be some sort of rule for preventing teams blatantly ruining the competitive edge of the league in the latter games. Didn't Bristol Rovers go up with exactly the required score line, beating Scunny about 314-0 on the last day? Not sure what the rule would be / policing, but it's becoming more of an issue.

Vale, believe it or not, could take a bung from Cambridge and allow the game to finish a draw to relegate Burton or Cheltenham!

this has to be the biggest dead rubber in history. would like to see the younger players played and leutwiler in goal. the rest can hang their heads in shame bar 2 or 3. mass clearout and a decent striker in the summer please. ill be watching and waiting this time before paying for a season ticket because this season has been unnaceptable to the point i didnt want to go watch the games.

I also want to see a fans forum asap with the leadership fronting this season up. its very easy to sit in front of 200 fans when youre doing well. now is the time to repair the damage that has been done.

that is all.

roll on full time.
