It’s not Darren’s fault but he can get us bouncing back

Terribly to be honest. We just needed a few more points than 3 wins in 23 from Darren and we would have been fine.

Sound familiar?, you should never have been relegated this season, never.

You needed very little points wise to stay up and yet that charlatan couldn’t even get you that could he.

Both our clubs have suffered, both our clubs have made shocking managerial decisions. And both our clubs are getting exactly what they deserve. Relegation.

No complaints but for goodness sake do not exonerate the very Man that has completely shafted us both.

Oh do bore off onto your own forum

I'm hopeful that appointing Darren Moore is signalling funding the team well in 2024/5. That is now to fight for promotion. I'm concerned PV doesn't become mired like Tranmere Rovers has as a club funded enough to stay clear of the bottom of L2 but with no prospects of getting back to L1 without new ownership.

In the Championship this season there have been 20 managerial changes. The teams placed first to tenth are still with the same manager they started the season with. The other 14 clubs have done the 20 managerial changes.

Birmingham changed manager when in sixth place and are now in the relegation zone.

So much for new manager bounce eh?

For the record Huddersfield were 21st when Darren Moore left and are now in 23rd place. Terriertalk is clinically braindead.

Bradford have been well funded and stuck in League 2 for a while. I suspect our funding will be on a par with most of the teams in the playoff positions.  Bradford, Notts County, maybe MK Dons, Carlisle and Gillingham are the only clubs who will probably have bigger budgets. Clearly we aren't Wrexham or Stockport who could buy the league. We'll have a top 10 budget. A lot then depends on recruitment and luck with injuries.

Chesterfield's budget will be much bigger than ours

Chesterfield's wages and loss last season were almost identical to ours. It may go up a little and ours may go down marginally but they aren't as well funded as Stockport or Wrexham.  A lot of the Salt money has gone into training facilities and developing community initiatives.

Nobody is as well funded like Wrexham below the Championship but Chesterfield are more well funded than Stockport and they are going to increase their budget this season.

Just a little example of Chesterfield's budget, they are currently paying Will Grigg £5k per week

Realistically we are a similar size, working class club like Tranmere and unfortunately a lot of the great old industrial clubs like Oldham, Bury, Walsall, Bradford etc have been doomed due to the fact that there is no working class anymore. The days of everyone finishing a shift and going as a workplace to the football are totally alien concepts.

The only reason Wrexham have been saved from a similar fate is due to all the money thrown at them. They had suffered it over the past 10 years or so beforehand.

Getting into league 1 is a good achievement for us. I do think we are still capable of spending a decade at that level but doing so in the Championship which give or take is what we did in the 90s will be impossible.

I don't agree, and would say that is a very sad indictment in how the club has been run since the 1990s because we've spent the overwhelming majority of our history well above L2. 41 seasons in the Championship, 46 in L1.
