Scottish Championship is National League North / Northern Premier League level: so a humongous jump for RP, so lets be patient with him

I think that’s about right these days. I mean Uche seemed appealing to a Scottish Prem midtable team despite an awful league 1 season. So logic dictates a bloke having played in the Scottish Champ, a level below, could be worse than even him.

Not that this is a problem at this stage as he has scored goals, is on less money, is younger and has more potential than an injured old Uche. Just need him to develop in the right direction.

Uche was a free agent. We ve paid a largish fee for this lad by our standards.

let’s see how he shapes up this season but professional football demands the right physical attributes to even get on the first rung of the ladder so hopefully he comes with those already in place and ready to go for us come August.

He will probably end up hitting it off somewhere and being a decent player,it just didn't work here for him or us

But remember, Mipo is 2 years older now, more experienced and possibly wiser. Perhaps what he showed in glimpses when he was on loan at the Vale he now demonstrates more consistently ?

Interestingly that Akinyemi we were linked with earlier in the close season scored 17 for York last season in the National league. He came from Ayr before that who are at the same level Paton has come from with Queens Park. Obviously its another level higher to league two but I'd suggest that shows the jump can be made, as we know the better teams in the NL ain't far off the bottom half of league two at least.

I'd like see two forwards in the team whatever formation Big D chooses , Raymondo 😬

Why not send Big D an email and let him know Nippy?  Tell him if he doesn’t grant your wish it’ll make you feel “disconnected” from the club.  Seems to be a bit of a buzz word these days so it’s guaranteed to make him sit up and take notice.👍🏻

Thanks for the heads up , Raymondo 😁

A marvellous player ravaged by injury.

60 odd games in 4 years. Makes Wilson and Jones stats look amazing.

From what I've read most Gills fans are saying it's a no from them.

He was great about 6 years ago. I wouldn't want us anywhere near him.

What a player he was,I say was because sadly for him injuries have really hampered his career BUT if they keep him relatively fit them what a player for league 2

Well, I guess it was going to happen eventually, I am now full of optimism for the season ahead. More new signings than I ever expected and some of them look to be more league 1 than league 2 quality. I am surprised and pleased that DiPep has signed a new contract, even if it is just to ensure we get a decent price when he goes (hopefully to be loaned right back to us). Carol will be all the better and certainly wiser following the experience with you know who, and looks to be dipping into the cash from the takeover to fund a realistic promotion challenge. As ever I'm not expecting miracles but am hoping for some half decent footie from players that look remotely interested.
Come on Vale..........
Echo all of that. I'm not so sure Dipepa is going anywhere.
