Only 6...??  whats wrong with you m8....??  You melt! 🤣

Must admit, Danny Batth looks the perfect experienced centre back that we are looking for. Been there, done it with Wolves and captained Wolves & Stoke. His off the pitch persona is right up Carol’s street.

Good luck to the yak before injury major part of our climb to nearly top, after well most players had downed tools by then, and like most of defensive players didn't shine at all (who did thought him and lad from.Barnsley did very well under a bombardment second half v Fleetwood at home for 80 mins, ,Debrah and Lowes poor play saw that there excellent work went unrewarded that night )after that others bought back in ,and leaderless again as Moore chopped and changed his back line .

Great lyrics if anything the most enjoyable part of most Vale Park atmospheres last season.

Good luck fella got us  coin like Loft who cares how much both sold .

Let's have some more gone Moore and bring in that leader at back .

I think he as left the best for last ,signing that is

Im hearing Ripley is next to go love his performance levels but if right offer comes in he goes

You want sort your hearing out 😂

I would say the only players DM will look to play as CB's will be Smith and Debrah(he will be looking to get rid of Jones and Lowe imo who aren't CB's anyway),so for me we need 2 more CB's in if he is going 4 at the back and one needs to be an experienced lump and then maybe a pacey young CB on loan or full back who can fill in at CB if needed

Bit of a balls up signing Hall if he doesn't play him 😉. On a serious note Hall is a big guy, a lot taller than me. That signing photo was a bit deceptive as he's actually quite a lot taller than Darren Moore. I went to the friendly a couple of years ago with Sheffield Wednesday and had agreed to meet some friends at the Roy Sproson statue before we went up to the Park Inn. Moore was waiting for a phone call and we talked for about 5 minutes. He's around 6 2 as he was about my height. Moore always seems to sit forward of everyone else when he does signing photos which makes him seem bigger. He's broad and clearly a strong guy. Hall must be 6 4 or 6 5 as he's noticeably taller than me. Jesse Debrah seems tall on video but I haven't been in the UK since we signed him. I'd imagine Moore wants him to be a little more aggressive when heading the ball and if he can add that to his pace I think he'll be a decent player.

Debrah is tall, maybe not as tall as Hall.  He’s more muscular than Hall but despite this he was too easily shrugged off the ball a time or two last season so he needs to eradicate this from his game.

Experienced CBs that have become free agents this summer after last playing in the Championship

As pre-season programmes continue it’s interesting to consider at what point free agents become less attractive to sign because of their potential lack of fitness and the time it then may take for them to get up to the level DM demands.  I’d hope if more free agents were coming in we’d get them this week  or at the latest next week to give them a chance of being match fit (or close to) and getting to know their teammates before the season’s start.

And after looking pretty decent, with potential, his foot starting to develop into a 'sheriff's badge' and his distribution was terrible! The ball was pinging off everywhere! I recall 'taking cover' during one game!

I think we will get a young lad in on loan as cover. For me we will start with Smith and Hall, Debs who I don’t rate on the bench and then someone one loan. Smith and Hall should be a more than capable back pairing. Personally I don’t think we need some 35 year old Cb. Both Smith and Hall are experienced. I think more important is someone to challenge Clarke as he clearly won’t be fit for the whole season

We will 100%  bring in a permanent CB

With the amount of signings we are making and with a couple more to come it makes you wonder what will happen with the trialists unless they haven't impressed

Looking at that list, I always liked Ciaran Clark when he was a young lad in a bloody terrible Villa team when I used to go and watch them

What do you think will happen? Haha they’ll be sent packing 👋🏻 If Moore has seen something in them then he’ll sign them unless they don’t fit into his plans anymore. Diamond probably the only one we may take on loan I don’t see us keeping any of the others. You’d think they’re really going have to impress to have any chance with the squad we’re assembling mate
