Wasn't it an investment in the end?

Not quibbling that she/Synectics probably have more money but I don't think she sold the company.

UK fraud data firm Synectics Solutions has been sold to Synova Capital at a high benchmark valuation thought to be in the region of £180mn ($228mn) after a feverish bidding process involving at least a dozen private equity companies, The Insurer can reveal.26 Feb 2024

Sorry if someone else has posted similar...I still have pages to catch up on!

The sale involved the Shanahan family, the founders of Synectics Solutions, who have agreed to partner with Synova Capital to support the company's next phase of growth. Despite the sale, the Shanahans will continue to have a role in the business, working closely with Synova and the current CEO, Richard Wood, to drive further innovation and expansion

Has anyone who's been to training this week seen Dipepa? Wondering if he is away from the club or if he's still there

From the signings so far, I believe it is a 100% certainty that we are playing 3 at the back. Hall is much better with this system, & we don't have sufficient right back cover for 4 at the back.

I actually love Smith but as you say anywhere around 300k you have to snap their hand off and i do think we could replace him with that money

The club posted some photos of training today and Smith is on one of them. I think we can safely assume there is nothing in that one about Stockport.

I must have brain fog..... I dont seem to recall this bad Connor Hall in League one. He wasn't great but none of them were. Its like the Mal Benning saga - no where near as bad as folk were making out

Hall was very solid in league 1. One of the lights of the early successful period.

The basic point is, Carol has more money than she had in January.

If it’s Leigh in that photo we must be paying well. He’s too good for league 2

Hall never really made the step up to League One like most of the side which is one of the reasons why we got rid in January.

Jones never had a good spell for Vale.

To be honest, I would have liked to have seen someone better than Hall come in but can not complain at this level giving Hall another go again

We never had players on a par with the bigger clubs, benefitting from Championship parachute payments  and triple our gates. There were 5 or 6 each season and it was pretty clear that they had players technically way above us. The only way to compete with those clubs is to develop our own talent; which is why I personally want the likes of Shorrock,  Plant and Dipepa to get reasonable game time next season.

As for the rest we were competitive for half a season,  you just need to look at the 1 December tables;

1. We didn't have the depth in the squad to cope with normal mid season injuries

2. The January window was a disaster both seasons and left us weaker.

In terms of your specific comments Jones did have a spell in each of his first 2 seasons where he played well. The big issue has been injuries and he takes some time to get up to speed.  That's no use if a player never last 10 games before his next layoff. In terms of Hall he had an awful September in league 1, thereafter and before he was quite solid. We were significantly worse without him post Christmas two seasons ago.

Surely Leigh is still with Jamaica… they played their final group game yesterday in the Copa America.

Plus he is way too good to drop to league 2.

But he wasn't in the team or on the bench - oooooh 😉

It does look like him tho!
