Makes sense. Have they published this anywhere?

To ensure that there are no clashes with England's #EUROS2024 Quarter Final against Switzerland this Saturday, our friendly against Kidsgrove Athletic will now kick off at 1:30pm 🗓️

It’s in the post. Media team are busy today ✍️

Just seen Colchester have signed Jack Payne, was a hell of a player at Swindon but didn’t do so well at MK

I was hoping for better than Hall if I'm honest. He was good for us the first 6 months then struggled. If you read the colchester fan's forum it was the same, i.e. good for first 6 months then went downhill. I hope I'm wrong but jury is out for me.

They say he went down hill when given the captaincy,he is still a good player imo and personally I would sooner have him than Yak

We're a League Two team now, you know? Hall has already proven himself at this level, and we never even managed to replace him.

What did he say?

I think he was the player he got in trouble for saying he lacked effort and heart for the battle at Christmas time.

Still at Colchester ain’t he? Yeah he’s younger too, I’m not saying I wanted to sign Payne but he’s a player I’ve liked for a while. It’s not exactly a position we’re short in or need numbers for anyhow.

He struggled with the step up to league one but tell me a defender that hasn’t after we got promotion. Rolls Royce of a defender for us last time in league two.

Brian Johnson your an absolute creep you know 😂😂😂

Hall started League 1 quite well. He then went through a spell where he tried to get infront of his forward to intercept the ball and was getting turned.  Jones came in and played well. Can't remember who got injured but Jones moved into the centre and we had quite a good run defensively for a couple of months before Hall got sold. He was poor for a month. Better players did find a weakness which may have come from his earlier career in midfield but he'd rectified that when he got back into the team.

My question from Colchester is can he play in a 2 in a back 4. He started life as a midfielder and leftback. Last year was probably his first season in a back 4. He does like getting forward and being involved in attacking play. That's restricted if you have play with 2 centrehalves. Also how much did the captaincy affect him, I think it reduced Smith by about 20%.
