Same for me, fantastic player at Lge 1/2 level, on a par skill wise with any other attacking player in Lge 1. Constant injuries are the only reason he's found himself playing in the 2 lower tiers.

There was always hope for Vale when Wilson was on the field, sadly he wasn't on the field enough.

In terms of your specific comments Jones did have a spell in each of his first 2 seasons where he played well. The big issue has been injuries and he takes some time to get up to speed.  That's no use if a player never last 10 games before his next layoff. In terms of Hall he had an awful September in league 1, thereafter and before he was quite solid. We were significantly worse without him post Christmas two seasons ago. 

The big issue with Jones is that he is an awful defender with or without injuries.

I agree with the rest of your statement though. Our squad was built with a good crack at League Two in mind and the momentum of the win at Wembley carried us through for the first few months of the season.

The squad did amazingly well against all the other budgets but then we got let down in the January transfer window when we really needed help for the first time in League One

Young kid Davies in the nets has signed up now as well. The academy has come on leaps & bounds it’s lovely to see 👏
