If we get relegated I think Port Vale can bounce back with promotion. We have seen in cup games that the current squad can compete with the top teams there. So with some rebalancing we should be challenging.

Looking at our remaining L1 fixtures we face a big challenge given the difficulty of the away games. I see the Bristol Rovers game as must win if we are to mount a successful climb back up to the top of the cliff and not quickly fall into the drink.

We have very little widdle room for a great escape....

.😬😬👍👍

the result against Burton gives us hope and the performance was excellent and ti feel three more wins will keep us up and we still have Wycombe , Exeter and Cambridge to come and I believe we can do it; stay positive and get behind the lads

When we are relegated  and we will be we will finish next season in the bottom half of league 2 but at least we might win community club of the year for division 2

Off topic but kind of related. Is Dan Gore still at the club? Can’t remember the last time he was mentioned

Man Utd allegedly don't want him be involved in a relegation battle .

That's what I've heard might be nonsense .

Only time will tell if it is though .

Just because play decent away shouldn't mean you guaranteed in the home team as difference between Leyton Orient game and Oxford quite clearly showed .

So I'd expect changes.

Yeah but the academy has been terrible up until Flitcroft revolutionised it.  We never produced any home grown players. Ever.

The re-writing of history and claiming glory of other people's efforts really boils my piss.

It does, as well as the current coaching staff. 2 goals on his debut, well done Baylee.

Nobody is denying that. Just find it amazing that Baylee getting called up & scoring for England turns into a Flitcroft/current regime bashing opportunity. He was clearly looked after in the early days & he has clearly been looked after in the past few years as well, simple as that.

Our Academy was rated something like 91 out of the 92 EFL & Prem clubs when Sevvy was in charge... talk to me about that.

I get the point, but it's a bit 'backward' to the way many modern clubs recruit now. Because of manager turnover in particular, generally the best run sides have an 'identity' and recruit towards that (managers and players included).

Of course that's what DF was supposed to do but somehow managed to dictate a wingback system and provide us with no wingbacks, and some of our best youth prospects being wingers.

So DM running the show might not be great if he didn't work out, because of the turnover needed when a new manager comes in who has a different approach.

Saying that, Moore's shown himself to be more flexible than I imagined with team shape and set up, he doesn't seem to have an identity at all. So I'm really not sure whether to be convinced DM would be the right person to drive recruitment or not.

I would not think that was true. Experiencing a relegation fight would be part of his learning and would be good for him to be involved in that.

Sounds like you've got it smashed Patrick

Wonder they stuck you in the hot seat with that level of strategic thinking

I think I’m right in saying your season ticket won’t get her any discount, at least I’ve not noticed any when buying tickets for folk this season.
