1 point from 23rd, 21st, and 20th when you’ve been brought in to help avoid relegation is ‘not good’.

I expected some degree of impact - nothing major, but just a sign that someone competent was in the dugout.

He’ll get time, but this slow start has likely killed our survival hopes and we can’t just pretend these results were inevitable. We should have picked up 4-5 points.

Didn't carol say she doesn't know about the football side of things and that was why she appointed flitcroft. Then why did she say he was the only manager SHE wanted?

The post match interview, was one of the worst that I've ever seen from a Vale manager. Completely failing to acknowledge that the second half performance was totally abject  and that the team who stuffed us 3-0 just a few weeks ago and are certain to be relegated, battered us again  for the entire second half and were unfortunate not to have got all three points. 

You've really got to be super optimistic to pick any positives out of that and as a manager, of course,  he has to, but despite us being 2-0 up and good value for it, from the moment the second half kicked off, we all knew what was coming, except the manager. 

Just shocking all round.

Probably coming to terms with the realisation he's flushed his career down the pan to manage our inevitable relegation into League Two believing the director of football spiel about a squad full of talented players just needing a bit of a lift

I’m greatly concerned from what I’ve seen so far. Dominated by Cheltenham. Collapsed after conceding against reading. Pathetic and meek on Saturday. And then the second half tonight was total and utter mismanagement, you could see it coming a mile off after about 5 mins of the second half.

She's got to reap what she sows.

She was interviewing for a football manager.

Then a football manager told her she should hire him as a DoF.

Then he told her to spend a fortune on a campus, T-Zone, scoreboard etc.

Then he signed 60+ players over about 3 windows.

Then he hired a coach as a manager without interviewing anyone else.

Then he refused to rectify the mistake when he clearly wasn't cut out.

Then he assembled the weakest, softest group of players we've ever seen.

Then he failed to sign a L1 level strikeforce over 3 windows.

Then she had the audacity to write a patronising letter telling all the fans why we are all wrong, and that the board were all right.

Etc etc.

This blind loyalty from Carol is the reason we're in this mess.

This relegation is on her.

And she needs to get rid of DF, take some of that £180m, and bankroll us back into L1 at the first attempt.

The fans do not deserve L2 football again.

The fans ALL saw this coming.

We did far better without a manager, a draw against high flying Stevenage and robbed a point to a controversial penalty against Pompey. Why are Vale the only club not to have a lift with a new manager?

Whilst the squad is awful there is no excusing that 2nd half performance and that is simply on Moore for me. Very strange subs cost us that 3 points.

Because oftentimes when a club sacks their manager it is a knee jerk reaction to a run of bad form and the "new manager bounce" is really just the team returning to the mean. Or the sacked manager really was holding the team down and the new guy changes things for the better so there is an immediate impact.

In recent times, the manager hasn't been the problem, it's been the players simply not being good enough. That problem was supposed to have been fixed post-Askey with the appointment of a director of football...

The fact that this thread exists beggars belief. In what other sport would the manager/coach come under fire after 2 weeks in a job, let alone the one that DM has taken on.

As for him not being the sharpest tool in the box, this is football folks or should we be looking towards Oxford or Cambridge University for our next manager?

Fair point. I don't see him as any less intelligent than DC and he wasn't exactly a damp squid for us...
