Open letter from Carol posted on the clubs official website.  It's quite a read.  Basically Flitcroft ain't going anywhere anytime soon.

No mention of any of the issues that are causing people to direct their feelings towards the DoF.  

Will this work in bringing the fans back together?

None of the points she makes in it are wrong. It’s more what’s not been said about the lazy option of appointing Crosby without a proper recruitment process or the complete failure recruitment-wise particularly in the window.

All well and good, but he's produced a squad of players that are on a death spiral to the bottom of the league. If she's happy with that then fair enough, we're stuck with him and his nonsense either way.

That phrase "we'll learn from these mistakes" will go down as the motto of the league one Carol era.

We were supposed to learn from last season, we've got worse. We were supposed to learn from last January, this one was worse.

It mentions all the good stuff, which is correct and he deserves credit for BUT doesn't mention any of the failings which need addressing and which have turned the fan base on him.

Very telling that his key objective is to buy players to flog, rather than produce on the pitch. Guess we're seeing that now.

The success of a football club is ultimately determined by what happens on the pitch, is it not?  That is what brings paying supporters through the turnstiles.   Without wanting to deprecate any of the hard work in the community and so on, everything else is secondary.

Why does she need to highlight the negatives, they are there for all to see and are constantly mentioned on here and other social media - I'm sure that Carol, Kevin and indeed Dave Flitcroft are fully aware of the failings, just as sure as they are fully trying to address them.
It seems to me from the statement that Dave is here to stay and is a vital part of her team, ergo any attacks on him are thus attacks on Carol and Kevin.
As things stand we aren't relegated yet and more importantly we still have a club to support, it's not easy at the moment but this is Port Vale, when has it ever been easy.
