Cheltenham have Stevenage who could need to win on the last day to make the playoffs, and top of the form table Lincoln (21 goals in 6 games!), but ... also 2nd bottom of the form table Bristol rovers (0 goals in last 6 games.)

Burton and Cheltenham are in bottom 4 form, we ain't. We're gonna make it, stop worrying.

Last night makes us favourites of the three to do it but relegation battles often have twists and turns and we only have 2 wins since December so its far from a given that with 2 wins in 18 games we will win 2 in 5.

Exeter are absolutely flying as well so need to keep focused.

And just like that its in our own hands again. Its not been pretty and theres a long way to go but proud of the lads in the last couple of weeks in terms of desire to get themselves in with a shout of staying up. We looked doomed 3 weeks ago. Inquests need to be had at the end of the season as where the fight they have had in them over the last few weeks was previously when we were in dire form. I think 2 wins and a draw sees 100% safe it may be less required with the form of chelt and burton but i think another 7 will definitely do it.  UP THE VALE

I'll hold my hands up and say after Shrewsbury I thought that's us 100% done, so full credit to Moore for getting us up and fighting again. But it will all be for nothing if we can't build on it.

We are kind of playing the back to basics football that I expected a bit earlier in his tenure. As you say, credit to Moore for recent games, but also a shame it took so long to figure this out. I feel he underestimated how bad we were when he came in.

Surely we can only really judge him post Flitcroft, so that's not even a month yet. He's made a lot of very useful progress since then and if we can keep this going, then we can and will stay up.

I like Moore and think he is a good manager. At the same time he did break a record for longest run without a win for a new port vale manager.

In recent times I can only compare it to when we were at the bottom of L2 when DC came in and it felt like almost instantly we were more solid defensively and competitive. My recollection of Moores early games was that we were much more experimental, changed formations often, played a lot of players etc. You could argue that's part of the journey and the result is our current uptick in form. However points on the board earlier would have given us more breathing space to figure this out with less riding on it.

It could be that he's finally found what's required but it's simply too much of a coincidence to me that it's all happened immediately after Mr. "in charge of everything football on and off the pitch" exits stage left...

Sorry can't agree with that.

We failed to win in goodness knows how many games when DC came in. We were saying where's the new Manager bounce.

In fact the first win under DC wasn't until the match after Andy Crosby joined the club.

So perhaps it's AC we should thank for ending the long wait for a win when DC became Manager?

Too be fair I think it was about 7 or 8 games before we won a game under DC and it was Crosby’s first game as his assistant.
one thing is for sure though we have definitely given ourselves a fighting chance in topping a min league of 3 woeful sides!
