Get beat today and AC has to go. Pay him off and try to save a transfer window which I believe will be a knee jerk reaction buys like Loft.

The process is not working whether it is not due to it being for higher leagues or OUR process is flawed.

DoF time to earn your keep or get out of club. Already been mentioned AC goes and DoF takes over in the short term - they are his players selected from the process.

It really is chilling that our last couple of signings have been Loft and Ikpeazu. Talk about panic buying. May as well have signed the Cheeky Girls.

Luckily Debrah at least looks like he has potential, although I think he's been put in the team quicker than originally planned due to our defence often being crap.

What makes you believe he’d be a success at Vale?  Basically it’s a complete gamble, as is any managerial appointment.  There are plenty of building blocks being put in place right now, the problem being that most fans aren’t arsed about building blocks, they want results and entertaining football.

Agree Ray it is a gamble whoever succeeds AC, whenever that might be eg Pete Wild has never coached/managed above L2-level so there’s no definitive evidence to say he could hack it in L1 or above.

Are we being too narrow sighted or lacking ambition by just looking for candidates at leagues below us rather than coaching/management talent at clubs above/same level as us in the pyramid? FGR brought in Rob Edwards, Ipswich gave Kieran McKenna his first full time managerial position and Portsmouth have Mousinho. If budgets are tight and we accept the risk there may be better value in offering a head coach/manager role to young ambitious coaches of PL U23, U21 teams etc?

Oh right. And nothing to do with the injuries to Jones, Iacovitti, Balmer and Lowe...

The amount of injuries we have and the length of time players are out is quite staggering are they having open heart surgery! We really need to have more players available and not on the treatment table. A fair percentage of our budget is on players never available.

As a manager once said,

’ players aren’t in the treatment room, when the team is successful’.

Their agents are probably in their ear telling them that their stock is decreasing, every time they’re selected and lose. Whoever said, that its a team game.🤷‍♂️ You’ve got to protect your brand and look after number 1. Unlike Loft and Uche they don’t care about their brand, because they don’t have one, as they still cannot believe we’ve given them contracts, that’s why they can’t be bothered to score.

There has to be another issue at the club rather than it just being the players fault. Heard plenty of talk of the training pitches being too heavy and that speedy was very critical of them and wanted to replace them (along with the main pitch) before he left.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think it’s possibly because, even in these soft times, football is a contact sport…..🙄

Ray, I think ppl have come to the end of their tether with AC always playing the same style of boring, negative, unimaginative football. As many have said they wouldn’t mind losing if the players put up a fight, from the kick off.  They don’t and they don’t change anything even after they’ve conceded. One dimensional possession ball, mainly in our own half. IMO we’re using a sticking plaster to try and manage a gaping wound.

True for some fans.  Sadly it’s easy to forget we have played some lovely football, not always with a positive outcome.  We’ve definitely been inconsistent and probably only been great over 90 minutes in a couple of games.  If you honestly think fans wouldn’t mind losing if the players put up a fight you only need to go back a few weeks to our barren run to see that’s not true.  We played well in a lot of those games, couldn’t score, but effort was certainly there in the majority.  Folk weren’t happy and that spell inevitably turned many off AC.

I thought on his appointment we’d re evaluate his position and he’d be gone by Christmas, so proved me wrong, what do I know. When we beat Reading who could have taken the lead if Carroll had have scored the penalty and when we played Northampton both games we won 1-0, were played at the pace of a pre season friendly. We then played Burton who weren’t great and closed us down straight away. This was followed by the debacle of Bolton where we didn’t have a kick in the first half. I’m not sure that there is a team in this league that are superior, but we can’t score. It was obvious after the Burton game what teams needed to do to neutralise our game and that’s what they’ve done, but he sticks with the same format and style. As I’ve stated before I think we’ll stay up, only due to the fact that perhaps there are four worse teams than us and we’ll get the odd good result. If that is the case and that was his brief at the beginning of the season then he’s met his objective. I’m trying to look beyond this season and see that as long as he’s in charge it’s detrimental financially to next season. Fans will vote with their feet and Carol will have to reach deeper into her pockets, which contrary to belief are quite deep, to keep the club afloat, the alternative is she’ll have to sell. Everyone wants onto be a success and that doesn’t mean we have to be promoted every couple of years. Players are extremely well paid even at this level compared to the average working person who is only on the living wage, as they class themselves as entertainers and that’s what fans want when they pay their money. I’m still of the opinion Carol is improving the infrastructure, with the exception of the RP toilets as part if her escape plan. Yes she has put a lot of money into the club and saved us from oblivion but allowing the club to buy Uche and Loft. She needs a clear out of those advising her.

Ray, I apologise for the rant

so why then throw around comments like " championship ready" or even " league one steady" which tbh we are neither. without serious investment on the pitch and less on everything else we are going DOWN.

I think it was more a reference to off the pitch but I agree, we would have pretty well the worst Championship ground if we did get promoted.

Well as the table stands there are ten teams worse than us. Maybe after 23 games we're where we deserve to be.
