We are indeed playing better football. I'm a Crosby fan but for the life of me can't understand why we keep signing injured players and not signing a striker or strikers of any potency. Scouting is key to unearthing gems from non league. I'm pretty sure there is some form of misguided committee in place fronted by Flitcroft, whilst applauding the signings of Lacovitti and Chislett and loans of Arblaster and Devine there are fundamental issues (flaws) within the "process" imo.

You would be amazed at the wages of players in non league and subsequent fees to take players.

I’m not going say who but a club wanted close to 6 figures for a NLN player in January even though he only had 5 months left on his contract. The player ending up moving to the club on a free in the summer. It’s absolutely bonkers and shows how difficult it is.

The wages some these lads are on, its now to the point it’s not viable to take a gamble unless the player is prepared to take a pay cut.

Taking a loan player to develop is so much cheaper and you get technically a better player. You just never know if they can adjust to men’s football.

To your point though there are gems in non league.

If big Jesse keeps on improving he could turn out to be one of those gems.  Hope his substitution was precautionary/tactical Tuesday night rather than another injury to add to the list, since he acquitted himself well whenever he was up against Cole Stockton before then and kept his cool up against one of the more, let’s say, physical teams in the league.

Uche was without a club and wanting to come back to the UK. So, several reasons maybe to accept a reasonable wage rather than extortionate.

He was without a club because he left because they wouldn't pay his wage. Unlikely then to accept a lower offer - and why should he, when he's played at Championship level?

I want Uche to work out. Get fit. Be effective up front consistently. Give him a good long term contract. This forward crisis we keep having each Summer destabilises the club.

I think this is as fit as Uche gets......? what you see now is what you get if you sign him for the next couple of years. He was like this many years ago when we had him even at a much younger age.

I like him but  given his poor goals return we shouldn't be breaking our pay structure for him I dont think...But lets see what we do with him when his short term contract is up.

I guess my view of him is that he's a useful player of his type. He occupies the centre halves. He can be played off as a target man. He is a big presence in the opposition box. But he doesn't get and take enough chances. However, he is the presence needed up front for several other players in our team who are a goal threat to get more goals.

I'm hoping he can end the playing round in circles going nowhere games seen at Vale Park many times this season. That's not being able to play forward through midfield or down the flanks. Also recycling the ball round the edge of the opposition box instead of crossing.

I listened to him after the game he says he is getting there but not quite there .

He will be a asset for sure and he also creates space for others if 4 are trying stop him that leaves 7 players of opposition marking 10 of ours meaning that someone is surely going benefit from the work he does .

Wins are coming by the bucket load .

What's so good about Vale now is T Conlon and Walters can do a job too if main men are not at it .

It's looking good as surely injured players are well on the way to recovery bar Clark .

No reason to me why Vale cannot remain unbeaten the rest of the league campaign .

Once the goals start going in and mark my words they will Vale will be winning regularly

Massey seems a different player in his main position the problem the lads had is has being expected play in position he isn't comfortable in .

Him and Sang down the sides looks very good long it continue, There connection which I've being told was superb v Burton and that's the first time they both been played in them positions and they both did marvellously in a  2 -0 win .

It just gets me thinking the connections are growing .

Also we have Ojo who can step in at the back ,and get that initial first pass off quicker which will result in us getting through the field quicker which means more opportunities score .

Its all very exciting and I'm very upbeat about it

Vale could well be on the march hope so anyway

Although I'm growning about the postponement this weekend, we could emerge with a very fit ready to go and actually strong squad by the following weekend.
