and the reason we haven't found that striker is not because of DF it is because Carol won't pay the going rate for one, In the end you can sack Crosby and Flitcroft but we still won't end up with a top quality striker because Carol just won't spend that kind of money. We need outside investment or she needs to sell up if this club is to progress.

Exactly

There's no way flitcroft has gone out and found some of the players we've signed but identified loft and uche as the way forward up front.

She won't pay for a decent striker or a decent manager

I do find it odd when people say the DoF model has failed. We got promoted on the first attempt and then stayed up last season. After years of <ovf censored> in league 2.

Most clubs at our level now have a DoF/sporting director/technical director of some sort

Somebody must be to blame for not signing a good striker, and they don't want to blame Carol even though it is blatantly obvious she won't pay what it costs for real quality up front.

I don’t think you can blame either unfortunately. Flitcroft can’t sign us a forward if the money isn’t there, and this year the going rate was ridiculous. And let’s face it as a club we can’t afford the big fees.

The problem I have is if you look at a lot of other clubs similar to our size in league 1, they’ve also struggled to get good forwards in. The fella Lincoln started up front yesterday has a pretty atrocious goal scoring record for example. But they still find ways to score. That’s why, for me, the problem is Crosby. Other teams have the same issue as us but are making it work.

By that reckoning we should never have got rid of Rudge, Adams and Clarke. The model got us promoted, doing very well, then we get rid of our recruitment team, bring a new team in, plus our DOF has removed a lot of personal and replace them with his own choices since our promotion and has this worked?, is he helping drive the club forward?

Here we go again...

Let's use statistics to paint the picture you want.

Let's not point out we have owners who want the very best for the club (Let's go back to protest and marching days every home game instead)

Let's not mention the £10M of investment in improving club infrastructure.

Let's not mention the very real success of our Academy.

Let's not mention winning promotion and signing players that play football to the best standard since Rudge.

Let's not mention a current injury list that has stopped us picking the team that got us to the top of the league.

Let's not mention reaching quarter final of the league Cup because you are not wanting to pay an extra £1 to watch the Vale play in it.

Let's just fall for the lies and empty promises of arsehole potential owners who promise you a striker whilst stripping the club of its assets.

Yes its frustrating to concede in injury time.

Yes we are only as good as the last game. But does votes like this, at this time, actually do anything POSITIVE for the club.

How does encouraging those with zero patience and zero foresight actually HELP the club progress?

We have a clearly stated plan at the club after years of lurching from one <ovf censored> owner to another that almost saw the club out of the football league and out of existence.

Just reflect on that !!

He has clearly stated that all levels of the club need to be trained in the same style of play as the first team for continuity and the development of the junior players.

To do that some staff needed replacing with others who were singing from the right songsheet.

That's progress.

We aren’t unique, plenty of clubs are players shy of what would be their ideal first team squad and all clubs need outside investment, most of it comes by way of sponsorship.

Look at where we are now and compare that to when the owners began, you’ll see that in actual fact the club is progressing in every aspect.  However it seems that this progress may not be quick enough, or good enough, for you.  Suggesting Carol should sell up because we haven’t signed the forward you desire and ignoring everything else is quite simply the attitude of a spoiled child.

Every team got a injury crises and suspensions.

We have not won in the league for two months. That is not down to injuries

We have had luck with the cup draw all the way through to the quarter finals. We have not drawn anybody of note

Is success only valid if it's achieved the hardest way possible? If we were to win the Cup, would it be tainted by "we had it easy until the QFs"?
