I think once Uche is fit and firing, he will make a real difference to our options up front. He was clearly running on steam after half an hour tonight, but every game gets him more match ready, and I look forward to him making opposition defenders think twice. We haven't had a striker who can menace the other team's lunking centre half for a while, and I think Uche will. And the chaos he creates will make chances for our midfield to pile in and capitalise.  So forgive him his first touch from time to time, because on his day, he is a one man strike force (and with our injury record, might well need to be)

I hope so. He's the only player I know that has a poor first touch documented on Wiki! I don't know the extent to which this is his view or others views. But either way he has played football at good levels and playing to his strengths could be useful. Also I sense the dude needs a home and it could be Vale Park if he gets going for a few years to come. Given we couldn't sign any worthwhile strikers at reasonable cost in the Sumner we need to give max effort to make Uchi and Loft effective.

It's sad that our two best players by far yesterday were both loanees who won't be at the club next season in Devine and Arblaster. Not to say some others didn't play really well though who are our players, Ojo and Garrity in particular.

Hopefully we can now beat Burton on Saturday and then have a bit more confidence going back to the bread and butter of the season in League One where we have fallen off the horse big time of late. Something needs to be done in January in regards to the strikers though. I think people putting all their hopes and Ikpeazu coming good once "match fit" are going to be dissapointed if they are expecting him to solve our goal-scoring issues.

Didn't you see him hit the bar from a really tight angle last night, you can see he has goals in him, that cross from the by line for the disallowed goal against Cheltnum wasn't bad either.

He scored last time with us so I expect him to this time. We do need more in Jan though. Need to prepare for when the inevitable comes and Arblaster goes back as well.

He will get better and I've always acknowledged he can be a nuisance. But I certainly don't think he's capable of being anything more than a one in 4 games kind of guy, and even that's being optimistic. His career tells you that. I prefer him over Loft but certainly don't see him as our long term solution.

5 in 21 isn't anything to be excited about though is it. A fit Ikpeazu has his positives and I'm not arguing he isn't worth a place in the squad. But we still need a couple of decent strikers and it feels like we've been saying the same thing for so long that when it started, Saddam Hussein was still in power in Iraq.

So you’re saying plants shot v Peterborough wasn’t stopped on the line by an outstretched hand and Chislett wasnt hacked down at Stevenage ( even though the club received an apology that says he was)

Out of every penalty that you have mentioned, we should have had just the one - the Chislett one which the club rightly got an apology for.

Love out of the penalties you said that we should have had, you bring down just to the two

Every other penalty you said we should have had was quite rightly not given. You think a ball hitting a thigh now is handball (Plant v Peterborough)? good grief
