My bet would still be Troy Deeney. Been around the block, bit of a prickly character on the pitch and puts himself about. Got 4 goals for Forrest green so better than any of our current lot and must be fairly fit. Let’s face it, it’s stick or twist time and there isn’t much in the pack.

Deeney is exactly the type we need atm, a fighter. Moore has to ruffle a few feathers and hope he gets a response.

I had forgotten about him tbh,so yes could be a realistic target until the end of the season

I actually think Conlon would be more useful. I’m not knocking Massey, he’s been much better this year, but Conlon gives us free kicks, goals and assists. Massey doesn’t score, rarely assists, and is t as quick as maybe he once was. His increased work rate, whilst appreciated, doesn’t compare for me.

That said, I don’t see Conlon coming back in, but I would like him too in one of those number 10 roles (not as a starter but as a squad member)

I would compare Massey to a headless chicken. ,He runs around a bit, but doesn't.seem to know what he's going to do with the ball when he has it . That's just my opinion though

I don't we ever had a chance of signing him anyway to be honest,it was pie in the sky his wages would have been a massive stumbling block.

The Derby Telegraph states that Vale and Charlton were also keen on him, and Derby's manager Warne said on Saturday that 2 other clubs were also trying to sign him.

I know we were crying out for extra personnel, but I wasn't all that inspired with the Gayle talk

Every Stoke fan I know laughed at the mere mention of his name, and just looking at what he's done... 3 goals in 50 games for Stoke, just 8 goals in 5 years?

It would have been a hefty wage for what would be "a good character for the dressing room" by all accounts.

The one thing he always had in his locker was pace, his last few years, he registered more offsides than shots in games.

He's been out of contract for weeks, and there wasn't really a host of clubs desperate to sign him.

Many won't agree, but I think it would have been a very expensive mistake

To be honest, even though we have had soundbites about chasing free agents - Im not convinced we are chasing anyone (other than opposition shadows on the pitch🙈🙈🙈 )

Totally agree. When Josh Thomas went back and we signed Dipepa, I said that Dipepa would be Thomas's replacement. We almost deserve what we get. Makes me wonder how we managed to convince Moore to come.

I agree but some of the other signings like loft beg to be believed and has scored only one goal and in my opinion should be sold but it was Flitcroft’s signing and that won’t happen

Exactly this, but imagine if we signed Gayle and stuck him up there with Loft 😐

Well Derby have taken a punt on him. I’d be shocked if he Dosent score at this level.

Wish we had seen more of him before he went back. Looked lively and pacey. A nightmare for defenders to deal with.
