John Rudge had over 800 games in football management with a 37% win ratio and two promotions to the 2nd tier and an auto glass trophy.

Steve Bruce had over 1000 games in football management with a 37% win ratio, 4 promotions to the premier league and an FA cup runners up medal with Hull.

The narrative that Steve Bruce was a dreadful manager was always unfair I thought and one that fans just latched on to without studying his success and longevity.

That's weird really,as i said somewhere else i have a mate from Plymouth who is a massive fan and he is fuming and so are his mates,you only have to look at Rooneys record as a manager but he might at some point find a club where it works for him so for my mates sake i hope its Plymouth

It's strange isn't it. Rooney seems like a silly appointment but depending on the terms it could be good. If you pay him a low wage with a low termination clause it could be good. Plymouth (owners not fans) probably don't want to compete with the championship gamblers for a sustained period of time.

Rooney's name will possibly attract a lot of the current players who grew up with him as their idol on a wage that they otherwise wouldn't sign for Plymouth for.

Get rid before the summer and bring in someone experienced in the league 1 and you could be in a good place.

I would imagine Rooney will be desperate for another chance like elite players seem to get without doing the hard yards coaching.

Barrow are puddled. To just miss out on the play offs on the last day is way above what most would expect. His first season managing a league club, he will have success elsewhere.
