Football is a funny old game, teams to change a manager with 12 games to go Sheff Wed, Chelsea have done well. Crewe a bit longer from 18th to 7th. Although there may be many more where things got worse. So what does an owner do? MA generally has had better 2nd halves to his seasons at the Vale he so should be OK for a complete season, and hopefully will be fired up with Ryder`s ambition. At Leicester he did tend to bring in a dozen or more players in during the close season, but then the squads were bigger than at Vale. I am expecting 5 or 6.

Why shouldn't fans have strong opinions on the team/manager? Didn't hear much like this during glover or gannon's reign? They both worked under V2001? I just don't understand this theme that has arisen that Adams is somehow untouchable and infallible. The messiah with the mantra 'In Micky we trust' but with very little so far to base this on. Yeah I'll support him and the team, but I'll criticise him in the pub/on the Internet if I think he is not doing things right.

I don't think anybody is saying he is untouchable? He hasn't had a fair crack up until yet imo, he will do next season, so lets judge him in 12 months. Everybody thinks they're a football manager, especially when it involves their own club, if that was the case then they'd be sitting in the dugout & not Micky Adams.

 

It's ok having an opinion & discussing tactics with your mates in the pub & so on, i just don't want see Vale fans kicking off after 4 months just because we aren't top of the league.

I think he is a great motivator but limited in transfers and tactics. He is able to get us out of this league, as there are usually 12-13 clubs who could realistically get in the play offs. He's made a few mistakes since returning, and people have to agree that he is no longer here to motivate a squad used to losing, but to build a squad capable of promotion. I agree his chance to prove himself is this summer and next season. What I don't understand is this whole messiah idea. I haven't seen much to prove it. I don't think thats an unfair assessment of him so far.

And anyway...you're my identical twin, so have to agree with me!
