The Vale Park vibe

I just want to say how magnificent the Lorne Street Stand now looks. I noticed yesterday the new Leek Building Society signage that has nicely covered up the concrete blocks at either end of it. It looked like every inch of hospitality was taken yesterday and the lighting in the Robbie Room is class. From the Railway Paddock it really is a smart stand.

Vale Park as a whole looked a picture yesterday, with a big home and away support in attendance. As ever the fan zone and club shop were very busy.

I then watched the ITV4 highlights programme last night and we were featured, as they did a piece on the excellent Golden Valiants initiative. I'm usually indifferent at best to anything apart from the actual football side of things but it's hugely impressive how the club has become such an important part of the lives of the wider community, Vale fans or not.

Finally let's not forget last October we played, back-to-back, Sutton United and Barrow. This time we've had Sheffield Wednesday with Derby next match - for which we shifted 2700 tickets in no time at all.

The transformation of the ground, club, status and outlook has been very, very well-managed and long may it continue!

Good post Smithie! The feature on the Golden Valiants really showed the club in a good light, in the community!

I could be on there myself. Got a little 'un on the way in a few days. Going to be born in S-o-T but his/her dad is a scouse fan.  Already got the me and my Grandad support the Vale baby grow.  Will this work? As opposed to the shining lights of the Champions League.  I fancy it will.  Vale is in the blood.

Well said smithie. Vale are certainly trying all that's possible under Carole's reign to resurrect our Great Club to glory. I had the pleasure of visiting the Valiant Suite on Saturday and believe me the atmosphere,  food and vibe were excellent. Again another reason to be so, so happy in the direction we are going. VTID.

God yes! The club is on match days a radically different place from the dark days of Smurfwaite when I still shudder at attending a Saturday 3pm against Colchester in February 2018 and the ground was empty. Sub 3k attendance for a Sat 3pm. A very sad atmosphere and I will never forget walking back at the full time whistle alone with no fans l  left.

Nothing like that at all. Thank for we have our club back.

You cannot argue the club is going the right way, the Owners have had a very difficult job to firstly address the neglect that has happened over many years and then begin to improve everything. As they have said they have a list as long as your arm to address and there is a list of priorities, yes we all want everything done today if not sooner , however I think we need to be content that progress is being made. We are going the right way and there is no doubt we will improve both on and off the pitch, we just need a little more luck and belief and we will start taking points off the top clubs. Survival this season is top priority do that then we can all look forward.
