No, I don't get it either. If we haven't signed anyone by the start of the season I'll be miffed, but no point stressing at the moment.

From the videos on YouTube, he looks like a right sided defender who likes to bring the ball out . Looks like he has good feet, but whether Serie C (which looks like our NW Counties League) is any comparison to League One is another story.

How did he do v Kidsgrove? If we lost 3-0 and he's a defender, maybe I'm answering my own question.

With his background at Twente, I'd fully expect him to be well versed in playing and bringing it out from the back and therefore suit our preferred style of play. Can't comment on how he played tonight though as wasn't there.

Don't think you can read anything into tonights result. Pretty much the youth team and a training session so would have been primarily about fitness and tactics than anything else.

My 2 pence for the people that are starting to get a bit twitchy over the lack of new signings… Based on the amount of time that has passed since the covolan announcement until now, I think it’s evidence that there are potentially multiple deals that are done - or about to be done - whereby the club have purely kept a highly impressive watertight lid on them. There’s not a cat in hells chance that covolan was shipped off without a deal that must be pretty much signed and sealed for (a minimum of) 1 other keeper. I trust we will announce it when we are good and ready. And this example is for a position where we know full well there must be incomings - the complete silence just proves that when the signings do come, they’ll appear to be out of the blue but in reality will likely have been done deals for some time. KTF

I would say that his decision making is the thing that sometimes lets him down  - it feels like he can get a bit of a rush of blood to the head and will try the wrong pass at the wrong time - this can be coached out of him and we have good coaching staff. That’s why we are trialling him. Watford gave him a 2 year contract so they must have seen something in him.

why if it was pretty much the youth team , would it be a game about fitness and tactics , are the youth team starting against Fleetwood ? shambles by the Vale not to let fans know that they intended playing the youth team , truth is ( in my humble opinion ) we are struggling to sign players

If it's your opinion then it's not necessarily the truth

I personally don't believe that's the case at all. We haven't gone from despite having a terrible few years in L2 yet being able to convince the likes of Wilson, Proctor, Walker etc to join us last pre season to being promoted with a great squad unity and well known caring owners yet not being able to convince anybody to join us.
