Match Thread: Port Vale v Bolton Wanderers

Would like a win but would have bitten your hand off for a draw. Half way there.

Nothing half really. Can’t think of any chances they created, and we also haven’t really bar Legge’s header from the corner and Conlon’s blocked shot.

I’d absolutely love a point so if the second half is the same then brilliant. I do expect Bolton to step their game up however.

That amazing defence of Oldham has conceded 3 in the first half at home...

Having been 2-0 up!

Still in it??? We’ve been arguably the aggressors, so think you’ve called that wrong CB! We’ve looked solid and restricted them but again look clueless up front.

Encouraging first half. I'll be ecstatic if we get a draw today. I'll be getting drunk and running around naked if we win

The pessimistic side of me can see Bolton scoring a screamer in the 90th minute. Because life hates Vale for some reason

Massive blow losing Swann. He has looked good recently and it's another injury we do could without.

Can't fault the effort though. Keep it up Vale

Ok half that against a better side. I do worry 2nd half they will go up a gear and we will tire.

Despite what Bowers and Birchall say, I think we've done ok, I've not found it dour, rather be dour than losing, I would have thought Birchall would understand that the position the Vale are in it isn't going to be pretty it's about not losing.

I'm sorry he's bored.

Yes that’s the concern. You can just see them stepping it up and it being rearguard action most of the half and then conceding in the 90th minute from a screamer/ mistake/ set piece.

One thing Clarke has done already is turn Mills and Crookes into full backs.

Yes much more solid. It comes from asking them to do simple jobs well.

Solid half no many chances for either side but weve had the better of what chances there have been.

think leon will be disappointed with his header at the back post had to go back across goal for me.

come on vale again these are nothing special be nice to see us be the team to go up a gear and go for it.

Looks like Southend are battering Stevenage judging from the stats. Currently 0-0 at half time.
