Wow, Monty has been terrible and then pops up with that finish. Great goal!

Amazed and delighted at the same time.

We have NOTHING creative out wide.

Before the season started I said we were lacking that JMW-type player that can create something from nothing.

It is SO evident even at this early stage of the season.

Massively missing Amoo. He can be anonymous for 89 minutes but produce one pass/cross/shot to make all the difference in a game.

What a goal - love Monty I do

I'd hoped McKirdy could be that creative player but doesn't seem to have hit the ground running so far.

Hasn't he been injured? But didn't he have an assist in one of his few games? Unfair to single him out like that!

Ref looking for every opportunity to hand it to them

I'm not sure tbh! Didn't mean to single him out as I think he's gonna be key for us this season!

How do they get all those free kicks off the ref, but we get very little off him?

some of them just fall over and they get a free kick.

Come on Vale.  Concentrate please.

Squeeky bum time. Dangerous free kick...

See the ref likes "Fergie time" as well.

Come on Vale.

Just blown up.  Thank goodness.

A huge thank you to Brown and Monty for saving the Vale today.

Well done Vale for getting 3 points - not sure how, but will take it.

Well done, JA and the Vale. Kept at it and finally put it away.

Big challenge Cambridge on Tuesday - they won 0-5 at Scunthorpe, their second 5-0 away win this season.

UTV!

Happy with the 3 pts but things still dont look right. Our opponents on tuesday won 5-0 away so it could be a challenging game.

Kind of mirrors us in last weeks game really in terms of the chances Salford had. Missed a header that they should do better with and before that miss a peno.

Great result though and getting back to basics was the right thing to do today, but our lack of chance creation and attacking play is something we need to work on. we just don’t look like we’re entirely comfortable as a team yet.
