You pay for a service. You use the service. It is no longer your money. You are not forced to pay for a tv licence or use the bbc. It isn’t other peoples money, it is their money to do as they see fit. Do you question the salary of tescos boss after you have been shopping?

You are correct about one thing in that statement,we are not forced to pay for a licence but if you don't you wont be allowed to watch live tv on virtually every other channel including Sky,BT or Virgin despite paying them a monthly subscription.

Same with everything else in life. Once you pay for the service it isn’t your money so you don’t get a say in how that company uses their money.

I stopped paying my tv license u can probably guess why they send bailiffs round in days so with having a new born and my lady at home it’s not fair on them so soon as little lady starts school and my lady back work they can do one again that’s if it’s not scrapped by then anyway

It seems people have decided not to pay for the service, with the BBC losing 300,000 viewers last year. One million households have given up on the licence fee in the last four years and things are going south. The only way this company can continue to pay their top earners is by sacking low earners which leads to less content.

Or top earners accepting a drop in pay since it is the lower earners who can least afford the  pressures of inflation.

All irrelevant in determining pay.

So rationalize Linekers ca 1.3m with Shearer's ca 450k with Jermaine Jenas ca 220k, Micah Richards ca 220k even Alex Scott ca 195k whom I don't believe works on MotD.  Any of those folks could do Lineker's job and others to, what's so special about Lineker to justify such a heft salary. Such a high salary is a waste of government money in my view.

I don't usually question salaries of employees of private companies as they are usually determined by market forces and are criteria based and rewards consist of a base salary plus incentives and stock options (In the USA) and if the company doesn't perform the employee is usually gone.

Wish the BBC would explain why they gave Zoe Ball a million pound pay rise after she lost a million listeners when she took over from Chris Evans.Rewarding failure on a different level or what?

Levelling up, they got heavily criticised for female broadcasters earning less than male broadcasters

Certain male DJs earn more than their women counterparts so increase salaries for certain female DJs and get rid of the Steve Wrights who were on high wages.
Not saying it’s right, just that’s levelling up.
