More threats. The man needs removing
He is absolute child, cant control something/ someone and he spits his dummy,,,he will be worried about season ticket renewals and may not have his income stream the way he wants,, if he liquidated us then synectics would be our knight in shining armour and that would stick in his throat so what ever he does he cant win ,,although we would have to endure more hardship in the short term to get back where we once were.

What a big lying baby he is plus he aint funding the vale the fans are,,,

There will always be a vale there wont always be a judas smurthwaite

It's more nonsense.

If he liquidated us, he would "lose out on a business" deal remember.

Just more childish antics from an overgrown baby.

Why not do something sensible and sell to Carol.

The **** will go down in history otherwise alongside the Oystons/SISU etc.

At this moment in time, the best thing the supporters can do for the long term safety and security of the football club is to donate to the war chest/legal fees fund.

We are up to £1600 already in just a few hours. Great stuff lads, keep it going. Share on facebook and twitter as much as you can.

I've donated and hope others can but obviously we've all got different money situations.

If nothing else, the actions of Black and Gold are clearly getting to him. Why would he even bother calling them otherwise?

What an absolute axsehole we've ended up with.

How does he stand to gain from either admin or liquidation? I suspect unless I'm missing something very obvious that it is an empty threat.

There is; a big chunk of brown field house building land with all the mine shaft problems dealt with at the end of Bell's time as chairman. While the local council is unlikely to grant permission once there's no football club he can put in an appeal at national level with a good chance of success. Its the football club which goes into administration not the business owning the ground. Plus the scrap value of the stand he'll sit on a decent sum, probably over 4 million. The football club itself is worthless as an investment and with all the debt attached to it, unless you've got an emotional attachment. While he's waiting for the planning he'll still get the return on the commercial letting in The Lorne Street and anything else he can make from the land. As the largest creditor he can make it very difficult for the club to be brought out of administration, which as a cold business decision would be the last thing he'd want to happen as he'd take a hit on his loan and find it far more difficult to make a profit from the land.

I suppose the crux of the matter is how much Mr Smurthwaite values his health. And I don't mean that in a threatening sense. He said that he was close to a heart attack when Vale lost that cup tie at Exeter. Surely the stress of the current situation can't be good for him? I suppose he needs to decide if Port Vale is worth more than a long retirement.

Can't be long before the sectioning van takes him away at this rate.

They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-haaa (1966)

Napoleon XIV

Could have been written for Smurthwaite.

And they're coming to take me away ha-haaa

They're coming to take me away ho ho hee hee ha haaa

To the funny farm

Where life is beautiful all the time

And I'll be happy to see those nice young men

In their clean white coats

And they're coming to take me away ha haaa

You thought it was a joke

And so you laughed

You laughed when I said

That losing you would make me flip my lid

Right? You know you laughed

I heard you laugh. You laughed

You laughed and laughed and then you left

But now you know I'm utterly mad
