I was listening to Paul on Radio Stoke last night and he came out with a killer stat - since Page was manoeuvred out of the club we had won only 31 games out of 125.

 

So here is our record since Norman thought that was a brilliant idea:

Lost - 59

Points - 129

Average points per game - 1.02

Average over 46 games - 47

Page saved us from the drop and we were a mid table league one team when he left us.

Look at us now.

Don't compare Page's team with the dross we've had since then.

 

At that time we had the likes of Grant, O'Connor, Alnwick, Street, Foley, etc in our squad - thanks to Page.

True, we played in a conservative manner but we were light years ahead of any team we've put together since and made a few bob in the transfer market out of Page's players.

Page had a 37% win ratio. He won more games in his time at Vale than the four managers in total since then.

Finished just 3 points above the relegation zone in 2015-16 with Torquay, relegated with the Vale the following season, finished 1 point from relegation in 2017-18 and now looks likely to be relegated again. He must be considered a bit of a jinx.
