I heard rumours. However none of these rumours seem to amount to a plausible story. Stuff like them being Stoke fans or money launderers is utterly libellous and I can’t see any foundation for it.

I thought that at first. Now I'm more open minded.

I thought his role of Chief Executive would have been things like speaking to the press and making decisions.

it's amazing how people like Garlic and Smurf want to speak when things are going well but when everything is going teets up they stay stum.

It's not a position I would take on no matter how much money I had.

 

Any owner who ran the Vale properly IE Accington Stanley or FGR would be revered by the fans,all they want is some degree honesty someone who had a plan,not someone who is absolutely clueless who refuses to accept any blame and someone who isn't rinsing the club at every opportunity.

 

Now is the time to take the Vale on because the only way is up.

There are rumours that Wildes and Smurthwaite have links with Keith Ryder. I would hope the truth will come out one day ( hopefully soon ). I am sure there are some dirty dealings that are yet to be revealed.

 

It wouldn't surprise me if the Sentinel are looking at this, given Smurthwaite's poor treatment of them in the past.

If there was anything in it then it would have come out in the police investigation of Rider's disappearance. I believe Ryder was thought to have ended up somewhere in the North Atlantic.

You don't seem to hear from him anymore. Thought he had left Titanic Vale Park or has he actually given up trying to deal with Gorman and just taking the money and doing the bare essentials?

Even if I had the pelf, and as much as I love Port Vale, I would never be Chairman - it's simply a poisoned chalice.

 

I have always been of the mind that’s if I won the euromillions I’d buy a non-league side not the Vale, for that exact reason Barry
