Extinction Rebellion versus brexit

I've never read such clap trap. I make up my own mind on climate change from a position of scientific strength, not emotion based on David Attenborough, a Swedish teenager and/or polar bears.

The cost of saving "Your environment" certainly is going to be massive going down the "Green New Deal" route and by the way nothing will be saved, the climate changes constantly.

What's wrong with innovation, prosperity and successful economies which capitalism brings rather than misery and destitution bought about by socialism/communism, have a rethink.

But the Green Deal is being proposed by capitalists?

Zzzzzxxx I really think is time to move on. I was not aware that molecular science made anyone an expert on economics, Port Vale trivia, Politics and History.

Bit of a stretch there. First went the Vale somewhere around 1963, Port Vale 2 QPR 3.

It is hardly dredging the barrell to point out a recent post you made was inaccurate,

I accepted the post was inaccurate, in fact I had posted a few years back on a Thread about Vale's poorest signings about Ken Todd, another poster posted the stuff about him being married to some rich restaurant owner in Hollywood, it was so trivial I didn't even bother to check it but obviously it means much to you, still impressed with your knowledge though.

I gave but one example of you producing a post that was inaccurate in every detail. I gave this became it casts doubt on your continued assertion that you only deal in facts. Clearly you do not.

And what an example, see above, I bet your extremely proud of yourself, great job.

You fail to understand that economic projections are not facts.

Stop talking rubbish, projections are projections, facts are facts.

You have ignored my many posts that refer to the fact that no long term economic predictions have ever come true.

What many economic projections, this thread is about climate change.

I think the readers deserve not to have to suffer any more of this so I will not respond to any more peevish, uninformed rants that you put forward to seek to justify your unbalanced and skewed perception of your scientific superiority zzzzzzzzzzz

I accept my views are different from yours on the matter of climate change but at least try and debate rather that just spout doom and gloom and attack the poster. Your narcissistic persona comes across more like an Essex girl than an Essex Valiant.

Impressive how you think trump (someone who wont read single page briefings)takes in the advice from a spectrum of top scientists and then comes to a well thought out decision. And not just doing what his minders, lobbyists who are donating and fox news tell him to.

This is trump (who believes he has a 'natural instinct' for science) talking about 'nuclear':

“Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it’s true! — but when you’re a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it’s four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible.”

Losing all credibility using trump as an ally on this one.

Not using Trump as an ally, just pointing out I anticipate he would have taken advice on Climate Change and made what he considers the best decision for America and it's economy.

The Green New Deal was proposed by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a Democrat, she is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America which has it's roots in the Socialist Party of America, so it's debatable/doubtful whether she's a capitalist.

Democrats would at most be thought of a centrist party here. Regulated capitalism.

I think Mark Field is in trouble.

You can't go around assaulting women like that.

He lost it didn't he?

Annoying though it might be, I'm afraid the red mist descended and he'll be for the high jump - and rightly so.

IMO she got exactly what she deserved and I'm sick of the sexist comments I'm reading on social media lambasting Field for treating a woman in such a way.

She wasn't peacefully protesting as is her right, she was trespassing and acting aggressively when she made her way towards Hammond.

Nobody could say for certain what she was about to do.She shouldn’t have been in there. If she had been carrying a weapon he would have been classed as a hero.Has she made a complaint?

She obviously wasn't carrying a weapon as shed have had to go through security. She shouldnt have been there but you can clearly see from the video she was peacefully protesting. Absolute crazy and violent and unnecessarily aggressive reaction from Mark Field. If throwing a milkshake gets you arrested then he should definitely face criminal action.

There was no security and there were multiple protesters to stop. That is the main learning point from this incident, the vulnerability of many significant public figures and business people such as the Governor of the Bank of England. She was trespassing. The fact she is a woman and wearing a dress is irrelevant. She could have been carrying a knife, could have had explosives in her shoes or bra. Because she is a protester doesn't give her the right to carry out her protest without challenge when she is trespassing.

Reasonable force was used in the situation. She wasn't hurt and she was ejected. The collision with the pillar was her fault for being there and provoking a challenge where her status, as either a protester or terrorist was uncertain. The alternative to what he did, after he decided to do it, was to throw her to the ground and arm lock her. That would have been more violent.

I think there are very large numbers of people who think he did exactly the right thing and used proportionate force. His only vulnerability is that it was not his job. His suspension has nothing to do with the legality of what he did, it is political response on the one hand and following a proper investigation of conduct in public office on the other hand. He may have to pay the price of public scrutiny, but my bet is there is a very low chance of him being prosecuted.

Unfortunately, trespass is a civil offence, so the woman can't be charged with a criminal offence.
