Pleased with this - be interesting to see what he's like.

3 in 6 is a decent record on loan (.....what was Turner's record at the same club?)

To be fair, Turner came in and they sacked the manager a week later. The new manager didn't rate him, so it didn't work out. Let's not judge him on this episode, please

It was actually 3 weeks later that they sacked their manager, and Turner had played in all 3 games of his loan spell up to that point.

I'm not judging him on his time at Tamworth, but nevertheless its an interesting comparison of 2 players going to the same club, playing at the same level, in the same season IMO. (in a way that Whitfield & Harness could similarly be compared\judged by their loan spells at Vale this season).

I'd ideally hope that Aspin brings in 2 new strikers for next season, as both Angus & Turner would be massive gambles, and as Barnett is only suited to walking football, we'd again be heavily reliant on Pope staying fit and producing the goods.

Needs a couple of games. We know the level everyone else in attack is at allowing for fitness issues. We need someone other than Pope scoring. At least a Dodds type and preferably someone who can outscore Pope and of a different type of player - which he is. Lack of goals is mainly why we are so low in the league as our overall goal difference isn't that bad. For me he issues: 1. goal scoring. 2. Keeper, maybe now resolved. 3. Defence. 4. Midfield, but this has two strands - more quality and younger players to mix with the experience better to get legs.

Is that a gloating post or do you genuinely not know?

As already pointed out in another thread, Dior is a few years older than Turner with a lot more non league games under his belt. At 19 years old Turner has managed to get himself maybe 30+ appearances for us (granted many off the bench) and he’s scored 3 goals. Plus he’s got more time to develop too.

We’ve got 2 potentially promising strikers on our books who I’m sure we all hope come good.

Glad to see the young players being given the chance now we are safe. Good move by the staff to see what these players can do with no pressure on them to perform. Just hope he copes with being in the first team and does not fluff his chance like some of our players. Produce in the reserves and fail in the first time.

That made me smile. Finding someone who can outscore Pope will be an ambition of every team in this league. Signing such a player will come with a huge wage demand and/or transfer fee
