Brexit again...

There again,a lot of people, especially in the north had very little to lose and that's why they voted as they did.
That's where I think you are fundamentally mistaken, those people have got a lot to lose in a weaker economy with lower tax revenues and thus reduced welfare and public services. A basic rule of business is the easier you make it to do business the more business you'll get and leaving the EU will make it more difficult for us to do business, the misnomers about 'trading with the rest of the world' are false and misleading, we have never had any disadvantageous conditions placed on us toward global trade by our membership of the EU and our non-EU trade is massively smaller than that within the single market.

You were the one who mentioned net contributions,we're the 4th biggest contributer I believe. Are you saying that's incorrect and won't be missed?

I’m saying that what you said was wrong again, and so you move on to something else. It’s constant nonsense. You said Germany and France were the main beneficiaries when their net contributions are higher than ours (Last info I saw we were 8th largest, it may have changed but France and Germany are above us).

You moved on and changed the subject not me.Weren't we discussing Airbus and BMW,the last time I looked they had French and German owners, both multinationals.

Don't they benefit?

(See you after the match)

So when you meant France and Germany being the main benefactors of the EU, you meant two multinational corporations?

They mainly voted leave based on reduced immigration and money to the NHS, the former won't happen and the latter is a downright lie. It's great isn't it, tell a downright lie and tax the people to make it happen.

You really need to keep up,I said that Airbus and BMW had French and German owners which they do.The two biggest owners of Airbus are France and Germany both with a 11% share,Spain have a 4% share.AN Other share the rest.

BMW,well say no more, guess what, they are owned by two Germans with a 50% share, the other 50% is apparently owned by AN Other.

A sure sign of France and Germany spreading yet another Project Fear for their own benefit.

Surely many companies like Airbus and BMW will consider their options once the UK leaves the EU. Most likely there are incentives for them to operate within EU countries. Once the UK leaves, unless it gives the same (or probably, better) incentives, then it makes sense to consider moving operations elsewhere.

I just do not see where the UK is the winner in this scenario.

Yeah lets blame it all on the forrins eh? Or perhaps we could consider the possibility that these are business people who aren't playing games.

The bottom line is that big manufacturing companies rely on very lean supply chains. Anything that introduces friction into the process will cost those companies time and therefore money.

The Tories have, for all their domestic posturing, not come up with a single workable solution once they already put down their own red lines of SM/CU membership.

If Brexit costs these companies time (ie money), or forces these companies to tie up more of their cash in inventory (also costing them money), they will just up and move elsewhere. That's not "project fear", that's reality.
