Must be lovely in your world of oblivion, Alf, saluting the queen, knowing your place and being glad of it admiring your superiors like Jacob.

As opposed to your world of walking about with your little red book, occasionally pausing to study your Lenin -Trotsky-Oh Jeremy scrap book.Alf Garnett types ,I presume you were referring to,are the very people that can see through socialist claptrap and hypocrisy.Personally I don’t live in an Eastend 5hithole,so I don’t need to look as far him

Darlin’ Harold.

Sorry, haven't got time for any more of this right now. As a crass hypocrite I've got to get some work done running my capitalist business, exploiting workers to make a nice profit for me! Need to bank some fat profits before Brexit kicks them in the groaners.

If woof is the best a poster can contribute it's best past over and ignored.

What I find slightly disturbing is that the argument/debate floats between...

The overwhelming weight of evidence SUGGESTING it will make us worse off.

And.

No weight of evidence SUGGESTING it wont.

To me that's like arguing where infinity begins.

Yes,I suppose I shouldn't have copy and pasted Santa's woof, woof post from 11 days ago?

Is he barking mad?

FUA can't add anything of merit to the debate as he lacks the intellectual capacity to do so. I really don't understand why people engage with him when all he offers in response to appropriate questions are stupid comments or cut-and-paste articles that only serve to illustrate how clueless he is. And people wonder why leave voters are labelled as thick.

Thanks Mr.H,nice to have you back.

I just hope my BE(Aero)wasn't wasted?:whistling::smile:

The problem is that the NHS is now taking up 30% of the total public spending budget. In the 60's it was less than 10%. The government's generosity to the NHS is having a considerable affect in lowering the funds available for other essential public services!
Poor comparison, compare it to other countries based on our GDP. If the NHS was the only public service it would be 100%, it was lower in the 60s because there were far more public services. Governments since 2010 have been far from generous to the NHS by cutting spending. All they have done now is pluck a figure out of the sky, nothing has been passed by parliament.

Unherd is run by Tim Montgomerie, Brexit cheerleader at The Times and also involved with the Legatum institute, a think tank who specializes in 'Disaster Capitalism', basically hedge fund owners crashing economies so they can hoover up assets on the cheap

...and your response to the substance of the argument?

There is no doubt the "Brexit referendum" was confused with the larger issue of mass immigration into the UK and EU. In retrospect a referendum on the single question of continuation of mass immigration into the UK, particularly from outside the EU, should have been held a long time ago. If the result had gone the way I suspect then the EU referendum vote may well have been different.

I think you're pretty spot on there.

Unlike some posters on here, e.g., Valiant62, I don't think all that many leave voters actually want a society or economy that operates on a minimally regulated Adam Smith free market basis, with little or no employment rights, minimal welfare, privatisation of all public services including the NHS and completely tariff free open trade allowing low cost economies such as China to effectively wipe out industries such as what's left of Stoke's pottery industry.

This is the post Brexit world advocated and desired by organisations such as the recently referenced Legatum and politicians such as Fox, Rees Mogg, Gove, Davis, Farage and the like. Surely there can't be many UK voters who want that?

A) I wasn’t a leave voter though I do see very good arguments from the left for leaving, B) I don’t want free market etc as you suggest. I do believe in local democracy and accountability, I think the common agricultural policy is a nightmare for the environment and puts money into the pockets of the rich ... both endemic EU policies.

Ok fair enough, because of your reference to Legatum I had the impression you were a far right free market Brexiteer. Ironic that I've been asking the leave brigade for ages for some substance to support their belief Brexit will be a success and the only thing forthcoming so far, even if I don't agree with its view, is posted by someone who didn't vote leave!

why dont you trawl back over the 110 pages or so and you will see plenty of substance - your problem is that you, and other remoaners on here, choose to ignore them and instead keep asking the same questions time after time, when they have been answered tme after time..

The politicians have not answered the questions let alone posters on here.
