Roos was fine yesterday. Not good, but we didn't lose because of him.

 

The defending for the 2nd goal was atrocious, and we got caught out at set pieces again. A lot of work needs to be done before we can think about addressing the keeping situation.

Goalkeepers at our level do not win or lose you matches. There are far bigger problems in front of him. Their keeper yesterday was worse than ours, but they still won. We have a side of journeymen players who are past it and young players who are not good enough. That’s the problem, not the keeper.

Tired of saying the same thing REP. Apart from Wilson (who incidently appears to have no interest in playing for the Vale) I bet Kay, Pugh,Tonge and Pope are our biggest earners.

 

I would say the worst by far are Kay and Tonge.

 

Aspo will sort it problem is the gap grows bigger between the bottom 3 and the rest as he does.

Kay was static yesterday for their second so was Gunning and Denton was appealing for offside when he was ON ON . Sorry to say this Kay has had his day at Stevenage he allowed his man in for the first goal. Anderson lacks mobility so we should give Davis a chance at CB. A good GK does more than stop shots but also commands his area and tells his defenders what to do. Our keepers are nowhere near that. I would try Pugh at LB with Denton left mid. Yates could drop to cover when Gibbo goes forward. Maybe we would get a clean sheet we need to do something

An immediate solution is to take a keeper on loan from a higher league club that isn't getting regular games in the club's first team and needs to gain experience. I expect Mr Rudge's contacts will be working on this now.

Yeah Kay is crap.

But tbh, so is gunning, he loses his head, and it just woeful and gives up, Denton is nothing special, he's completely all left foot and constantly turns back, harness is on par with Kay,.he looks like he'd be great down power league on a Sunday, he is not a league footballer, montano, what is the point? Pugh and tongue are slow and past it, Whitfield looks livelyish, we do need to send some loans back, there must be A FREE AGENT worth looking at? This squad till January in sorry to say isn't good enough.

We will get relegated to the national league.
