Strategy for this game? Dreams of Wembley or preparation for Notts? Does not seem much of an option in my mind. Caution to the winds and develop an attacking style, play further up the pitch and make better use of the younger players` legs.

My prediction for this is it will be one of the dullest games ever played out. 0-0 or 1-0 Oldham. At least the gelling process will have a bit more time before our next league defeat.

Think I'd play the second half team from yesterday but swap Gibbons and Gunning for Davis and Kay. Davis gave the ball away for their goal and Kay is shocking. Looking at the ratings from yesterday, the fans seem to agree that those two are the weak links. DeFreitas would fill the gap left by Tonge although Tonge may be able to play as I am not sure whether suspensions count for Checkatrade games.

Gunning at CB - Kay/Smith not working at the moment

Montano - get him back for match fitness

 

RB will be interesting. Neither Wilson or Davis have played well there (to be fair to Davis, he isn't a right back). I wondered whether it would be worth giving Gibbons a go, though I do expect it to be Wilson/Davis

I'd like see as many of those players not on to be honest play the maximum of young lads possible and give this competition the respect it deserves.. none!

I agree despite having a load of wingers, most of whom look out of place, I think we should be playing 3-5-2.

 

We need to start keeping clean sheets to build a base to get the season going.
