Doesn't that show that Brown doesn't know what his best team is. You did say that Smith played better when Kay didn't play.Did he play a back 3 of Davis,Gunning and Smith or did Gunning play left back.With Davis and Wilson playing I assume Davis was centre back and Wilson right back.

Has Brown accidentally solved our defensive problem.

After the rubbish served up on Saturday you must be joking.

Can't even be bothered to go this Saturday even though I have season ticket.Dont want to sit there pushing up my blood pressure.Anyway Davis answered my question by saying he wants to play centre back. Obviously they didn't have a meat axe centre forward like Akinfenwa or Porter.

It's just that you've been making such a fuss about this game I'm surprised you didn't go.

It's odd how good Smith looked last year but how relatively poor he's looked this season.

And with Morgan on the coaching staff.

But sometimes players can look good alongside one lad yet not comfortable with a different player.

 

I know we've had this discussion time after time about height not being that crucial if you are a centre half and can time your jump but I've always liked a big lump at this level and feel that Smith might benefit alongside a 6/4 lad whose a bit more muscular and stronger than Kay.

Are they too similar? Or are they still gelling together?

 

I said this on the crewe thread. too similar. Both want to attack the ball. Both Kay/Smith need a quicker player to cover them
