We really have some pathetic fans don't we. Calling for protests after a handful of games of the new season. You cannot judge Brown on last year, not his squad, not his players he was on a hiding to nothing. Don't get me wrong if in 10 games time we are still strugglIng then we should look at the situation again. I have not been all season until yesterday. I flew back in from Spain and got to Vale park yesterday after the sending off and bein 1-0 down. I thought the game time I saw was really encouraging, with some players on board that would have walked in to the team last year.

 

They are not fans,well not Vale fans anyway.They are bored wums.

The most encouraging part of the match was using the new Railway Stand bogs.

I don't trust Smurf - but that does not mean we should turn on Brown before his squad has had half a chance to gel and get settled. If by November we are still in the bottom 8, then fine - something is wrong, but he is still signing players and getting his team sorted.

 

They looked fine second half yesterday, and but for a barmpot referee and some bad luck, plus Tonge getting a rush of blood I have no doubt we would have equalised, then they could easily have caved in.

 

Keep the second half team and add in the right player for Tonge on Tuesday and we will beat Oldham.

Apart from a few brown had time in Spain with his new squad.

Brown had a window in January and failed us.

He is about three divisions out of his depth.

I also think as the games go by we should all start protesting but from Lorne Street.

It's too easy to face it out when fans are chanting from the Railway.

Thankfully people don't need instructions on how to protest. It happens by itself, and yesterday saw generous applause to the team despite defeat so I don't think you reflect the general mood at the moment.

Let's forget Smurf for one game. Brown has had a budget on a level with all others in this league.

He is not a manager at this level.

Rubbish idea. Billy Bell wanted to sack Rudge if we didn't beat Macc in the Cup; we won and drew Spurs in the next round. The rest is history.

 

Imagine this board had been around then. Vale would have missed out on our most successful spell ever if Bell would have listened to this sort of tripe.

 

I remember watching vale lose away to Walsall and the fans chanting for him to go too. Not sure if it was before or after this as i was young, but it was a similar time. However just because rudge turned into a legend, doesn't mean that every manager will.

I'm torn on this. I do think it's ridiculous to sack a manager after fou games before seeing how things gel or improve. But I also have little hope of it improving. As has been said, we should have had a new manager during the summer, and the transfer window will be closed in a week and we have our limit of loans, so a new manager will not be able to balance the squad. Rock and a hard place.

We were last season according to some. No blame to the caretaker manager, who was that guy anyway? Though tbf this summer's recruitment has been largely decent rather than the disaster of last summer.
