Shalaj signing a new deal?

 

Odd one if true unless he has been training with us he may not be fit missing all of pre-season otherwise. In all honesty as a back up he may not be too bad, we cant overly slate him as we didn't really get to see him last season to make a judgement.

I can't believe we haven't signed at least 3-4 more players minimum going into the first game. To have no recognised first team left back, and needing at least another centre mid and winger. What's going on? The squad is threadbare as can be seen by how one or two injuries leave us struggling.

Shalaj is the ultimate strange one(not him personally just the situation). Clearly signed originally as a gamble as we gave him one year as opposed to 2 years for other players, yet unlike a number of the other foreign lads who were deemed not up to it once Bruno left he kept making the matchday 16/18 even under Brown. He didn't get on much so we all thought one of the first names on the release list. Not so, gets offered a 1 year deal, then all goes quiet. As far as we know he hasn't signed for anyone else but yet hasn't trained with us or played pre-season

 

Personally I felt for the lad a bit as he did appear to have something in the few sub appearances I saw him. We know Brown and Morgan don't suffer fools on the training ground so he must have done something to get offered another year?

 

Oh well who knows!:huh:

Possibly home sick or didn't want to risk sitting on the bench again maybe. Odd one, as is Streete, Taylor and Eagles who haven't cropped up anywhere either.

Shalaj should have made sure that he got his pre-season stint in, either with us or with another pro club, to ensure that he is as fit as possible. I haven't heard that he has rocked up anywhere else, and if he has missed out, then whoever he signs for, he's going to be well behind the rest fitness-wise.

Unofficial has posted about Ben Whitfield from Bournemouth apparently coming on loan, 21yr old attacking mid/winger. On loan at Yeovil last season & scored 3 in 42 apps. Pyke is a friend/supposedly followed him today on Instagram too.

Yorkshire evening post are saying that we are due to sign left back Tyler Dent from Leeds on loan. Highly rated.

 

If true, Leeds must have a left back or 2 incoming then, as I read Tyler Denton is currently their only recognised left back.

Would be an interesting signing - won player of the year at Kiddie when they got relegated from the conf then did well at Yeovil last year
