There was that poll yes. And Im against a hedge fund. There wasn't an option for 'anyone' though.

 

I have definitely read a significant number of people on here saying get rid of Norman no matter what, or words to that effect. After the Oxford result, I made a comment about not wanting to sell without any idea of who would be replacing the current owner and philpvfc said 'Who gives a ****. He has to go.'. There are other instances of this but this was the only one I could find as it was a direct response to my post. I have argued against getting 'anyone but Norman' in for a while and wouldn't have felt the need to do so if people weren't so vocal about wanting to sell to whoever could replace him, no matter what their intentions. There's also been a post mocking those of us cautioning against selling to hedge funds and another saying "How in the name of God could we possibly get anyone worse than Smurthwaite?!"

 

The poll options were as follows:

 

OPTION ONE: YES, NS SHOULD SELL UP AND LEAVE

 

 

OPTION TWO: YES, NS SHOULD SELL UP BUT NOT TO THESE PARTIES [Hedge funds]

 

 

OPTION THREE: NO, NS SHOULD STAY

 

 

I would say that choosing option 1 (as 25% did) when option 2 was available, would mean that people wanted him gone, no matter what.

 

Anyway, water under the bridge now if the rumours are to be believed.

Choosing option 1 does not mean no matter what, it means they would take a hedge fund over Smurf. I don't think anyone would choose a hedge fund but the way we are going then perhaps it is a better option than Smurf.

You kept making excuses for Smurf not to go, he must wait till the right buyer comes along but I'm sorry, I have no faith in Smurf finding the right buyer, he just wants his money back and clear off. Hopefully whoever does end up taking over is right for the club and it's not too long away because the longer it takes for Smurf to go the further the club will be dragged down.

He is an assistant manager in an acting manager role, I would not expect anybody else to do otherwise. If we stay up his chances must improve.

Whether we say up or not it's doubtful if norman will bother looking for a cheaper option as you say fosse brown is just doing what any manager would do with seasons end approaching.
