One more point i would like to make is though the vale played garbage it was nice to see a captain on the pitch someone who tried to organise his players was vocal on the pitch stand up mr Bikey i can only suggest that Purkiss watches the video and learn what a leader supposed to do.

I listened to an interview last week with Billy Reeves and it was very interesting that he singled out both Foley and Purkiss as being very vocal on the pitch. Clearly we as fans don't hear everything going on the pitch.

Eagles has actually impressed me will go down as one of the better players in this joke of a season... but hey this is our best team for 10 years!!!

What kind of idiot would say this is one of the best teams we've had

The attendance was a shock to the majority of people and only 3 fans said we would get less than 4,000 on the GTC competition?

Nobody wants a protest again such as the like we have seen in recent years, fans will silently protest by not turning up.

Well done Smurthwaite.

Utter garbage. Smurthwaite did save the club' date=' gave us promotion and a decent league 1 budget. Yes the Bruno experiment failed but do you really think we were better off before he took over? We're a tin pot club from one of the most financially deprived places in the UK... if Smurf goes it's vultures and/Or bankruptcy.[/quote']

Sorry but if smurf goes its vultures or bankruptcy is a load of charlie hollocks, plenty will be interested in Vale and people would be silly to think otherwise, what is the issue is smurfs mental valuation of the club and what he wants to sell for

Yeah and the fans booed Micky Adams out of the club.

It's like last season fans wanted Page out eventhough I thought we had a very solid season.

Many Vale fans need to wake up and be realistic and realise we have no God given right to be a competitive League 1 side. Smurthwaite has given us that by ploughing in his own money. Attendances are dwindling because of the **** eroding our fan base, ageing fan base and the 90s glory days fans gradually losing interest. Not because of Smurthwaite.

Last season Smurf also wanted Page out

Having just rewatched the highlights, I'm staggered people have come back from the game singing the praises of Reg.

Honestly would put a lot of money on myself to bury his chance, and I haven't played in years. How can this lad be paid to be a striker?

After watching yesterday's game I suddenly remembered what I should have given up for Lent.......Port Vale. I am a masochist so I'll be there next week. I've sent myself to Hell already as I've bought a season ticket for next year. Going down will happen. I will sit in the Bycars and watch our demise. We need to clear this rubbish out of the club. In Division 2 we need to trim the squad to 23-24. Quality not quantity. Smurf pay that quality a decent wage. Keep Brownie as the manager. It's not his fault this debacle. Saddled with cr.p unfit demotivated players. Hands tied in the January window despite £350K coming into the club. Even if we had simply kept Alnwick we would have been 2 or 3 points better off now. Smurf to go yes for his sake and ours. To be replaced by Hedge Funds - no thanks. Ask my Coventry pals what they think of Hedge Fund owners. Asset strippers. Yesterday was a sad day. The old proverbial nail in the coffin. However Vale will survive and we will get stronger. UTV

Hedge funders aren't my favoured choice but it appears they would be the only ones who will pay the stupid amount smurf wants, now as we know they are in things to make a profit,so say they pay 6-7m for the club and then 2-3m on running costs how will they get MORE than that back by asset stripping at Vale??? They certainly wont be in it for a loss so and i am more than likely wrong the only way they would make a profit is by selling us for more in a higher division or even making 100m plus from the premier(maybe thats what they have in their heads) either way with Norman, hedge funders, synectics it will all be a gamble

I wonder what calibre of candidate we would attract now.

Sent from my XT1072 using the onevalefan mobile app

Prob the same a buyer now crowds are heading under 4k

I read an article on Ainsworth yesterday and what he has his players doing etc and considering he works on what could be the lowest budget in the leagues i wouldn't mind us approaching him

When i got in the ground yesterday i daid to me nephew where r the fans as surely if u attended the recent home games u must have enjoyed them .

A sat and getting just the normal tues hardcore 3500 odd .

Its hard point the finger but i remember someone saying that he wanted more people come the home games and not bother with away games as folk were just choosing go then .

But that person who made that silly statement doesnt realise u have to win away to build momentum and more folk will attend at home then .

Does anybody know who i am on about .
