My side:

.........................Fasan..........................

Purkiss.........Streete..........Smith(if fit).....Tanser

Shodipo..........De Freitas..........Guy...........Thomas

..................Walker............Hooper................

(Boot, Knops, Pugh, Prohouly, Eagles, Cecilia, Forrester)

Perhaps a touch harsh on Amoros that whose been fine but if we're going to sign Pugh he should at least be on the bench for some experience. Midfield looks lacking that but it would be harsh to drop De Freitas or Guy and both have plenty of energy. Seeing as we're at home against an average side it would also seem wasted to go with the same narrower formation we did at Scunthorpe so that's why Shodipo goes straight in.

Can't see any other way to play tbh. If Shodipo can perform to the levels expected we have a great attacking team no which is amazing given what we had vs Huddersfield less than a month ago.

If Smith and Streete are fit we have a solid pairing at the back too. Just hope ADF can get in Grant's face (if hes playing) and get him booked early on. The sooner he gets that booking (and subsequent ban) the quicker he becomes usless. Take fouling out of his game and he will look poor.

I imagine they'll play Knops if there is any question at all about Smith. We can't afford to lose him for weeks.

That's also why Foley and Forrester will probably be on the bench as you could make a case for them being in the line-up too.

Other than that we do now have a lot of options and who knows which way Brown will go?

I suspect he might stick Pugh in midfield. At least he's been playing for Blackpool so ought to be match fit.

The bench looks quite strong when everyone is fit and 1-2 lads will be disappointed not to be in the squad.

Who would you take off the bench to put a half fit Foley on? I think I'd leave him out for the day and stick witht the options we currently have.

Hope Pugh doesnt go ahead of ADF as I think De Fretias is a better player.

Am I right in thinking that if Fasan makes his debut, he'll be the first Italian to play for Vale?

I'm not too worried about him in goal (famous last words) although I'd have preferred an experienced stopper in an ideal world.

Brown said the deal to sign him was done 3 days before deadline day so not as much of a panic buy as maybe first thought?

Or was not the panic in trying to sign the Bury keeper as well? No Italian players listed on Wiki, so il primo.

Let's send out the rallying call! get down the game on saturday, create a partisan atmosphere & hope for 3 points that will work wonders for our morale players management & supporters! For the first time this week I pondered relegation i did not enjoy the feeling I can say.Unfortunately, unless we get a couple of wins quick it could become reality! Deep down I still believe we will pull clear but the feeling on Tuesday was not good!

We've also had Je-Rome Thomas & Bari Siddall.

Finish the game we did v Bury there will be only one winner .

The Vale .

I believe having energy throughout ya team with steady eddie like Pugh well look at Huddersfield they ran Brighton out of town ,terrific .

I like the look of our team i think they can go the rest of the season unbeaten but do they 😉

Should be three points tomorrow against 10 man Peterborough.

I wish I felt as confident as you. What team will we put out- and how will they gel ?

It's never good playing a team that have just been battered a couple of times, as they tighten up and it is harder to score. The goalkeeping situation is a risk for Vale, much as I wish the three young lads well, I cannot see a clean sheet.

So a low-scoring game with no clean sheet - a bit like when Coventry came on the back of a bad run. Sadly I feel we are in danger of losing 0-1, which might become 0-2 or worse if we panic when we go behind.

Hope I am wrong, I will be pleased to admit it.
