Ive been critical but.....

Mario

Recommended Posts

I've never seen such a shambolic thread. Think I'll give OVF a miss for a while.

What will it take for people to wake up? Will it have to be 30 fans left at Vale Park, watching Smurf's Plan F (made up of Scandinavian OAPs) fail to grind out a draw, as Smurf bellows from his director's box "you're all racist", sacks the manager mid-game, and then takes to twitter to reprimand any criticism with the grammar of a 7 year old?

Amidst all of this, carpetman123 reminds us that it is "Smurf's club" and he can "do what he wants".

Please do give us all a rest

This is bizarre so he gets no credit for doing positive things but gets shed loads of abuse, some of which is vile and completely uncalled for, for anything perceived as negative.

In a nutshell the problem with professional football and society today.

As much as I love Vale if I won the lottery there is zero chance of me buying the club to be regularly abused for often little good reason other than clear jealousy of successful or rich people.

It might surprise you but I'll gladly give him some credit for what seem some good and much needed signings.

I also reserve the right to express my opinion when he says and does stupid things.

Many rich and successful people are only in that position because they have made other people poorer by things like false accounting, property speculation or tax evasion.

They are often neither happy or contented - look at so many lonely, damaged, drug and alcohol addicted Hollywood and other 'celebrities' - nothing to be jealous of there.

As for your comments on Smurf, it would be easier to appreciate his acheievements, and there are some, if he didn't undo any good by ill-conceieved instant impetuous remarks on social media.

Plus things like the Exeter episode, plus the remarks he made about deliberately forcing Page out of the club.

He's got a lot of praise on the Tyler Walker thread. Regarding jealousy, I've never sensed much of that.

In terms of the foreign players that need to move on, for me they are MacIntosch, Mbamba and Pereira. All three have looked woefully inadequate when I've seen them. I think there is a decent player in Tavares somewhere if he can be utilised correctly, while I think de Freitas, Cicilia and Amoros have all shown promise. Knops is a reliable, solid defender at this level so to keep him is a no brainer.

Really haven't seen enough of Shalaj to form an opinion.

You would hope that Brown, who has played with these lads, as well as managing and coaching them, will be in a good position to make fair judgments. It's tough for those not in the first team as the reserves don't play much and I guess it's easy to lose fitness and/or a bit of motivation.

Mbamba has looked ok (but no more than that) in the few 20 minute cameos I've seen but Shalaj has hardly kicked a ball for us. You don't know if it's fitness or a lack of ability from afar. But hopefully come the end of the season (if not before) Brown will make the right decision over their futures though some may simply want to go asap in order to play regularly and we can't blame them for that.

I tend to agree with what you say though I don't think Tavares is energetic enough to get up and down the pitch and offers us very little. Kiko might be a better bet.

It'll be interesting to see the squad 12 months from now.

For someone who constantly has a gentle dig at posters you dont agree with, even if you do add a smiley, thats an odd statement.

Being critical isnt being abusive and most of the posts are critical of how he does things, conducts himself as the voice/face of port vale.

How you make the jump from criticism to jealousy is quite strange, if you disagree with someone you must be jealous? Its a bit of a "my dads bigger than your dad" type of statement

We dont agree on much REP and we tend to disagree without abuse, we seem to see the same events from different perspectives and different possible outcomes and/or solutions... thats what forums are about.

I dont want smurf gone, I would like him to do things differently and completely stop doing some of the things he does.

Oh dear!

Some rich and successful people may well be in that position for the reasons you give...but many more are there because they worked the 80-hour weeks; took risks using their own money, and/or mortgaging / re-mortgaging their own property; sold all their possessions to back themselves; spotted an opportunity where nobody else did; or maybe they got where they did by being creative or using their talents. I believe Tom FInney was one such? In any case, you can't really blame these for grumbling when some dick "wants to share the money more fairly" by taking it off those who worked their arses off and give it to those whose arses remain firmly stuck to a settee!!! Oh - and I know I've gone off-topic, so I'll do what you did and give a passing nod to Smurf - let's see how his remedial work pans out, eh?

Where are these 80-hour a week people - I don't see any except perhaps badly-paid nurses and others on such low pay they have to do it. For every beneficial rich person, there are a dozen rip-off merchants, tax avoiders, cowboys and profiteers.

Trump saying it is 'smart' to avoid taxes, and mocking disabled people, and so-called entrepreneurs employing pecialist firms, no wonder the NHS lacks funds in this country and people die for lack of healhcare in the US.

This post of yours is allowed by admin when some posts of mine and other people have been removed recently despite having no content that was aimed at other people, or attacks, or even anything contentious.

As to your rambling nonsense of a post, I couldn't be bothered after the first few words. It's obvious that if you disagree, you just resort to abuse, knowing that in the current climate of a couple of certain admin people, you and your extremist right-wing fellow posters can say anything but anyone who opposes you is punished.

Exactly' date=' well put its an odd world.[/quote']

Yes, and there's nothing odder than someone who waits until another poster disagrees with me then pounces to come in and agree hiding behind his post.

But only a few posts ago you told us what you thought was wrong with the world and how we were all jealous.

At least your other 'chum' Lancy Tony did manage a nod to the topic and mention Smurf - I wonder what the chairman thinks of your posts - I'd guess he cringes every time you fawn over him, as your posts damage his popularity all the time. ToyahW's Undertones link said it all.
