To be fair Hibs, Killie and Dundee Utd are as big or bigger than us. Trouble is he's never lasted more than 12 months anywhere, although that makes him a long server compared to Bruno who hasn't been anywhere longer than Judith Chalmers. The Finland job is an abberation as they only play a few games a year, have low expectations and very few alternative candidates.

If Brown is to be given a chance he has to be told now that he has the job until the end of the season. Trying to make signings when in limbo is tying the bloke's hands. Smurf must think he's either good enough for the job in which case give him a modicum of stability, or else he isn't in which case get his preferred candidate in as soon as possible. You can't expect Brown to struggle on in his current situation trying to get players who won't come because they're not sure who they'll be working for next months. Equally, if you give Brown a few weeks and he manages to sign players but it doesn't work, you'll then have to appoint someone with no transfer window to work in and inheriting players he doesn't want from two duff managers.

 

This needs sorting one way or the other quickly.

Who would want to come to Vale Park though? Dwindling crowds, cold pies that are gone at half-time, barely any promotion

of events at the club, depression at a level that I've never seen amongst Vale fans, even in the 60's when the club was in danger of having to seek re-election,

and no communication, which is the biggest problem of all. I can't see the likes of Adkins, Coleman, etc being too impressed by that. Given a chance , I believe Michael Brown would keep us up at least. It has to happen this week, one way or another.

It would make no difference to a manager wether there are pie hot/ cold or not.

 

If the manager is more interested in his half time pie then he is in the wrong job.

Well Crewe have fired their manager and appointed. New one straight away. Not an inspiring appointment but a quick one at least. I think there would be uproar though if smurf appointed an ex player with no managerial experience who is currently playing non league football.
