Matchday Thread: AFC Wimbledon v Port Vale

Recommended Posts

For this game, I seem to remember Wimbledon launching long balls to their very tall players and scoring 4 late goals against Curzon Ashton.

Doesn’t bode well.

The rest of this post are my views on where we are as a team.

Apologies if it turns into something of any essay!

After Saturday, many, including myself, came away impressed; and with good reason.

Others were expressing concern.

I now agree with both.

The first two months of the season, we held our own.

As injuries and suspensions have kicked in, we have struggled.

We have consistently made other teams look good.

Even on Saturday, whilst playing well, we made Northampton look good!

I see a team of highly talented, young and very inexperienced players, who are playing well.

But it is still not good enough yet.

In time, I feel confident that they will be very good L1 players.

Smurf and his management team have a very important phase to negotiate.

IMHO, we need a couple more no nonsense pro’s with a track record to shepherd the raw talent that we seem to have in abundance.

I seriously hope those at the helm get it right.

Spot on .

Loved the high level of energy in our team but we lost so if u look at it from a fan who wasnt theres perspective u would be not happy at all yet i come away from that game 1 million times happier than v Stevenage won v Charlton drew v Fleetwood won v Coventry lost .

A few more experienced pros we will be going great guns i predict .

So smurf and Browny and Bruno have to get it right

What's our own league form like? 1 win in 9 is it?

I make it P13 W4 D5 L4 in all competitions; P10 W2 D4 L4 in the League - 3 of those defeats were away at Bolton, Charlton and Sheff Utd: at least 2 of these will be getting promotion (imo). But, my glass is at least half-full and I don't very often make a point of looking for the negatives!

For once in my life I actually agree with you SFBT. Please make a note in your diary.

Good point.

After last night's win Man.City have now won 5 of their last 16 matches.

Pep out.

Stats, make them up as you go along.
